New Condor accuracy HELP!
Hi guys. I am new to this forums but often visit some of the other sites. I have a new Condor SS in 25 with probably just a couple hundred shot through. Its fitted with BKL high mounts and a Hawke Eclipse scope. I am just NOT getting the accuracy I thought I would with this gun. I have tried a LOT of different pellets and the power wheel setting with a Chroni. I am currently running it at 6 and with Kings that gives me an average of 1025 FPS. Is this TOO hot? I figured this gun would be accurate at that speed? I am at about an inch maybe a hair better at 25 yards. My Marauder shoots one ragged hole at that distance but at about 885fps. Not looking to do a ton of things to this gun. I thought it would be better out of the box. Thanks. Bill

I usually shoot for mid 900’s on most of my guns for pellets. This will also increase your shot count.
The qc top hat is a easy way to do that. Pop an insert in and in less than a minute you change the power levels of the gun. I have one in both of my guns.
Also spacers under the top hat can be used to limit top hat travel and valve dwell (how long its open). I use this in combination with the ttqc tophat.
Both of them together and you can very easily fine tune your gun to your exact needs. The spacers just require you to slide the top hat in and out, which is easy, but not as easy as changing the insert.
All about how much you want to spend and how much work your willing to do.
But the first step, turn down the power wheel. Might try heavier pellets also.

Yes, your rifle is shooting too hot.
You need to lower fps.

Just my two cents if you are still having trouble. I agree that your original setting was too hot. I recently switched over to JSB EK Heavy MKI and
saw an improvement, not only in the Condor but in my other guns as well. I have read that these pellets really group best around 850 fps. I can attest to that. I’ve been shooting them with good results around 865 but last night slowed them down to 853-ish and have gotten my best groups so far.You might want to try these sometime.
I think that 25.4gn Exact Kings would hit their sweet spot around 900-920 but I’m sold on the Heavies.
One strange phenomenon I stumbled across was that at around 2600 psi the groups really come together. And it shoots well down to about 1900psi.
This might just be my gun (Condor .25 SS) but as you shoot, take notice of the pressure and see if it doesn’t tighten up at 2600 on down.
I’ve done some other mods to mine but those I mention should show a big improvement and cheaply so.
Other things to try:
HOLD:
Try and hold the gun lightly while shooting …don’t muscle it tight. This gun exhibits frame flex if held too tightly.
TRIGGER:
I’m really not thrilled with the trigger on the SS. I think that it’s way too hard a pull for accurate shooting. There’s an aftermarket trigger that looks pretty good.
BARREL:
Some guys lap their barrels. It might help it. I lapped mine but found the above tips did more for groups than lapping.
SCREWS:
Make sure all screws are good and snug…don’t overtighten.
Well that’s about it…let us know how it goes. Remember that your mileage might vary. These setting work good for me. Others might not agree.
