New Condor Performance Question
Just received my new Condor .22 this week and did my first Chrono string using 31gr Sam Yangs pw at 12 over 12 shots Fps was between 930 – 869 Fps but it seems to be using a lot of air? Do you think I would benifit from a heavier hammer? I don’t plan on ever shooting any thing lighter then 28gr.

If it ever warms up past -25 I well try to see what if any results my changes made.
I like them both the .25 for reaching out and the .22 SS for shortrange work where the .25 is just too big.
Main thing is this platform allows for me to have many different guns in one, try that with something costing 3 times as much!!

Hello Harry, I had Tony’e 110 gram then turned it down to 90 grams and polished her up. I fill to 2700 psi only PW set at 8 tophat setting can’t remember but I went thru about 1200 or so pellets with my Chrony finding my Condors sweet spot.
I use a 12″ and 24″ in .22 and 24″ in .25 with the optics and everything dialed in I can process vermin out to 120 yards with some pretty good consistancy.

Do not expect a heavier hammer to use less. Play around with different pressure fills (try 2700psi) and put it through the chrony again. You ‘ll use less air and the consistency should be better with a slightly lower pressure. Powerwise that sounds about right. BTW, the SamYangs are 32gr so you are getting about 62fpe.

Which one of Tony’s hammers do you have? The 85, 90 or 100gr? He makes several.. I think even a 75gr one.
I found Tonys heavy hammer and adjusting the tophat yielded more consistant shots when I did my testing. Seems the valve leaves the factory set a little high.
Around 20 plus 60ft lb shots is my norm with good accuracy of course.

Can you explain how hitting the valve harder is going to use less air? I’m not being a smart ass, I just don’t understand it.
I well try that I’m going to washer up my hammer till my new one arrives also.
i imagine that you top hat is to far out, most are from the factory. i would look at “quick tophat adjustment” in the quick referance section

Bought the cart from one of those discount places around 30.00 and also some rachet tie downs, I find it nice to cart the tank around.
