Q:

New condor valve

Hello TAG, Im new here, great forum. Iv’e learned a lot. I am in the process of tuning my valve and I cannot get this section apart. Does it come apart? I read the valve mod in the quick ref. section and it did’nt say anything about this. This is a new condor valve and the post was written for a talon.
Also, Wok, I read your post about removing the valve. I took the rupture allen screw out, stuck a bolt in, hiit it with a hammer and ripped the bolt right out along with the threads. I was able to get the allen screw back in though.
Thanks- shooterjoe

Sure, I’ll post pics of the valve stem when I replace it. It is ugly but it is in the valve and working. The valve body is ok, just scratched up. As for the over pressure release hole (or whatever you call it) there were enough threads left to get the allen screw in safely. It holds pressure. I don’t think it is going to come shooting out at me, which did cross my mind when I was filling it.

Would you show pics of the burst disk threads?

how many undamaged threads are holding the disk?

Doesn’t sound real good from here as there are not many threads to begin with.

Be safe

Don’t it just suck when it all goes pear shaped??!!
Don’t worry pal, it happens to the best of us. Live and learn… 😀

Can we see pictures of the carnage?

Thanks Shrpshotr28, it pulled right off. I screwed up my valve stem and oring while polishing everything though. 😥
Wok, the bolt was the correct thread. I don’t think I had it in far enough. I didn’t remove the burst disc at the bottom, wasn’t sure how. I wrapped it in duct tape and wrenched it out. Then had to file off the wrench marks. 😥
My trigger mod went so well I got a little over confident and did my valve, Im not so happy with the results. Well, part of the fun of these guns is working on them!
Thanks again for your help.

are you sure you want to use that valve body????

You ripped the bolt out and the threads by hitting the bolt?

Holly shit 😯

Next time make sure the bolt is screw down all the way and give it a whack but not so hard as to break anything.

If the bolt was the correct size the worse that should have happened is the bolt should have bent. If it got ripped out the bolt threads did not match the valve thread.

the black delrin seal is just friction fitted. It will pull off of the stem allowing the tophat and stem to be removed from the opposite end.

be careful not to damage the seat area where the delrin contacts the brass retainer.
