Q:

New CondorSS Owner

Good day all,,, First off apologies about the name, it has been with me for years since I raced Eagle Talons down back country roads and fire trails and not any other purpose, LOL

I just bought a 25cal CondorSS for some low cost shooting, vermin control, small game hunting(lotsa tree rats round here) and introduce my niece to shooting as she wants to do the youth hunt next season. I have looked and shot several different air rifles lately in the search for a rifle. I shot a 22 TalonSS and was rather impressed with it’s performance. These Airforce rifles are far beyond all of the cheapo Gamo and Crossman stuff from years past.

Of course I cant leave anything stock, nothing is perfect! LOL, so I am planning on a few items to start, a WokGard15 MKII and a TT tophat just to get the ball rolling.

Here she is with some customization, Simmons 4-12 mag44 scope, added a rail section with the Magpul AVG, and a sling stud screwed into the forend for the bipod. drilled a few small holes to bled off the frame. WokGard15 MK2 with a G-27 grip with the heel trimmed off. Next on the list is the TT hammer and then the adj TT tophat. We HAD a spike in the squirrel and chipmunk populations this year……..LOL damned thing is accurate as all get out,,,,I also need a air bottle, the hand pump is a killer! LOL

Gotta get the TT top hat w/ inserts.

The inserts allow using lighter weight pellets at lower speeds. It’s a lot quieter. It uses less air. There’s less risk down range.

I keep the large insert in my Condor SS .22 almost all the time. With 19gn pellets It’s shooting around 900FPS.

When I want to slam something hard with a 32gn Eun Jin, I take the insert out.

Oh shit, I was thinkin’ of the Condor, I should’ve read more closely.

Unfortunately that won’t fit in the talon valve but that’s OK it is shooting perfect speeds with out the high flow valve

Maybe a TT top hat w/ inserts. My favorite mod so far…well one of them. The Ultima Long you showed me is fuckin” badass!

so just put the condor with the new 18″ .25 barrel over the chrony I’m getting a whopping 62.12fpe out of this gun thanks to TalonTunes for the parts to make this gun a beast :4:

Dans .22 talon is putting out a whopping 42.36fpe and the only thing done to that gun so far was i added a condor hammer weight to it and that weighs 2 grams more than a TalonTunes Talon hammer. But the hammer noise is loud so items that need to be done to his gun are.

* TalonTunes Talon Hammer with hammer slap mod.
* Mad Dog Ultima Short Stock or TalonTunes Venom Grips and TalonTunes Tank Cover
* Polish Top Hat
* Better Scope

Am I forgetting anything Guys?

And here it is next to my .25 condor its big brother lol

Well the Rifle arrived today. Sweet rifle, the weight is perfect, even lighter feeling than I expected. It does need a longer front stock, that “pistol” length fore stock is kinda short, but that is what credit cards are made for! LOL

I had no issues with mounting the scope without the riser from Airforce, I was able to get a comfortable cheek weld and sight picture.

Holly crap,,,,what a workout that first pump up is! Going to look into a larger scuba type tank now!!!

Just swab out your barrel to clean out any gunk. I always put a couple of drops of Break Free in my pellet tin to lubricate and clean the barrel.

Give that a try first before doing anything more drastic to the barrel.

At first I was really looking hard at the TalonSS, but I wanted a 25 cal and a longer barrel for additional range and after seeing all the different renditions of this platform, the Condor SS just made the most sense for my intended uses.

Should I give the barrel a good cleaning with JB bore paste before shooting? I have read somewhere where the barrels for pellet rifles have different maintenance requirements, is that correct?

Welcome,

You gonna love it. It is a good gun to teach kids with as well, your niece just might out shoot you. :8:

Congratulations! I’m a new Condor owner myself. I’m like you and knew that I can’t leave it stock so I went ahead and got one from Tony@Talon Tunes. It’s my first pcp so I have some learning to do. I got a little time with it Saturday. I was hitting shotgun shells @50yds and bowling pins @100 yds very easily. You are going to have some fun with it.
