Q:

New Cricket .22 standard bulldog from Dima of Kalibrgun USA

Hi,

I just wanted to share my positive experience with Dima of KalibrgunUSA. I bought this about two weeks ago and I could not be any happier with it. It is shooting just as advertised. In the 890’s (fps) with jsb 15.9’s. I was shooting it this afternoon and was hitting everything I was aiming at. The only thing I don’t like about it is the gauge. I could live with the color code face and will probably get accustomed to reading it, but I really like to know the numbers. That way I can keep track of the shot count better if I am not counting shots. Along with my edgun, they make a perfect couple. Thanks for all your help and answering all my questions Dima!

THe .25 47 FPE Cricket was quieter than the 30 FPE .22 Cricket in the test – probably because of the much larger moderator.

they sure look sweet, how is the .25 ? loud…consistent…accurate…

kinda expensive but 47 fpe is perfect for .25 and i wouldnt mind swapping the crapid for one of these

The cricket is quieter because it is shooting at 29 ftlbs versus the 45 ftlbs for the edgun. The edgun is my long range sniper. 70 shots at 890 fps with a ES of 10 fps. My cricket is for backyard shooting even though it will probably do well at longer ranges. I’m able to get 5 clips = 70 shots from 250 bar to 110 bar. It shooting 16 grain jsbs at 890 fps. Good enough for me. My edgun feels long compared to my cricket. I can see myself going back to guns longer than my edgun. Maybe 36 inches but not guns in the 40’s. I can get everything and more from my guns that I ever did with longer guns which in royales, rapids, and daystates. I’m waiting for Ed to build a large caliber edgun. Maybe 9mm or larger just for the kicks.

I saw someone measured the .25 quieter than the .22. Both were similar to a Marauder .25.

The story behind the colored gauge front has to do with the original country of production which was Russia…… 😉

Russia has strict power rules on airguns, – and in order not to attract too much suspicion, – the manufacturer tried to camouflage the real capacity of the gun by taking the numbers out of the gaugeface and replace it with color coding. Guns were also engraved with misleading or incorrect information (max 10 bar !!!) to show they were “toys” only and not guns……:

On the colored gauges the blue zone covers from 0-100 bar, the green zone represents 100-200 bars, the yellow zone is covering 200-300 bars and the red is beyond that and a “nogo”-zone if health is what you’re after…. 😉

That said, the gauge is so small and the pointer so wide that scientifically accurate readings are impossible. Also the gauges are not particularly accurate, – but good/safe enough for keeping track of gun fill.

I have reasons to believe that the new Kalibrguns will appear with the normal numbered Wika gaugefaces (like the EdGuns) as soon as their supply of colorful labels are being exhausted…..

Cheers from Trygve in Oslo 😀

Thanks guys!

Anyone know where I can get a Wika guage ?

TIA

Congratulations Gabe !

If i am not mistaken they are both WIKA gauges.

George

They are indeed both from WIKA……… 😉

Congratulations Gabe !
Although I am a big EDgun fan, i have to admit that the Cricket looks beautiful too !

Maybe you can change the gauge with a numbered one.

looking good, congrats!
wouldn’t it be possible to make your own numbered gauge?
just connect it to the tank, compare tanks gauge with crickets gauge, take note of angles then make your own super exact numbers gauge in illustrator.

I too would be bothered by colors only.
