Note the moderator at the end is, by design, quite small. Is there an effective means to further reduce the muzzle report for those of us negatively afflicted by sound on the Lelya? (nasty neighbors)

I don’t want to disturb the short, sweet design features, but there are times when an easy on-off moderator extension would be handy. If Ed were to design a “friction fit” secondary moderator. Just a 4″ baffled moderator, no protruding threads, just an intregal “sleeve” with a recessed O ring, to slide over the existing Lelya moderator to hold the two pieces together. A hand-tight push-on fit, with the partially recessed O rings sealing and preventing cosmetic damage to the Lelya. The O rings would be easily replaced, and the add-on moderator would be occasional use anyway. A quick push-on/pull off answer when more quiet is needed. With no threads, and a wide-mouth end…why could Customs even give it a second look.

Or, Ed, perhaps offer a longer moderator Lelya edition, designed for those with extra quiet shooting needs. Just another few inches long. Call it the “Lelya Urban” model.

Food for thought Ed….the Lelya has further market potential, given half a chance. It can’t be everything to everyone, but for some of us restricted to back yard shooting, silence is not only golden, it is vital.

Picture doesn’t look like it matches the specs on the website. Perhaps the EdGun website is wrong? Again…

It says the Matador comes in 177, which is no longer the case, no 25 cal mentioned either.

So who knows the actual numbers? 😀

I’m getting one in 177 for the offhand rifle sihloeuette competitions. It’s going to be my secret offhand weapon. 😉 I’m already 1st overall in the Varmint class with the USFT benched, I figure the Lelya is the perfect compact, light rifle for this kind of competition. I’m going to make a FT legal pistol stock for it so I can shoot it in the pistol FT competitions. 😀

Apart from the trigger linkage and the stock I believe the Lelya has a longer barrel than the Veles pistol version. 12″ compared to 9″?

If Ed still made the Matador in 177 I would have ordered that. 😉

The Lelya is essentially a Veles carbine. Look carefully and you’ll see the same action and such. That pretty much makes this little beast a cracker-jack carbine for close in shooting.

At 24″ it will almost fit in your pocket, and I’ve watched Ed pop some bottles waaaaaay out there in the 70-80 meters with .117, so it has plenty of power for what I do.

Besides, it’s just a really neat, and well crafted, piece of gear. One of a kind to my knowledge. It will get .22 pellets up to 700 fps and I shot a LOT of small game back in the ’70’s at less than 700 fps, which was considered a magnum springer back then.

I like the fact that that little 80+cc air cylinder can be hand pumped if necessary.

I’d still like to have a Matador Standard in .25 caliber!

Why are you doing this to us???

If you introduce an electronic trigger, semi-auto action, ….all I can say is… put it on the Lelya first! Give the Matador a rest. We can’t get them anyway.

We need an updated Lelya. I’ve heard they are still water-cooled! Have you been able to apply ANY updates to these powerful little beauties???

Wow! now I can sell my airwolf. I havent shot it since I got the R3 anyway. Its almost the perfect gun, needs multishot. I don’t really like fumbling with pellets in the field but other than that its perfect. Ill start saving my money now Ed.
