New H&N Pellets Released
H&N Has released a slew of new pellets. Most of them look to be from their acquisition of Prometheus and Defiant.
H&N SPORT PELLETS:
Sniper Lite
The H&N Sniper Light (formally known as “Defiant”) is a barrel-shaped high velocity competition and hunting pellet. It is designed specifically for field target shooting and for air rifles that do not exceed 12 foot-pound
.177 – Weight 7.5gr
.22 – Weight 14gr
Sniper Medium
The Sniper Medium, like the Light, is a barrel-shaped high-velocity competition and hunting pellet. It is designed for field target and hunter field target shooting in air rifles that meet or exceed 12 foot-pounds (caliber .177) of muzzle energy. The special shape of the pellet reduces the drag and thus ensures a flat trajectory.
.177 – Weight 8.5gr
Sniper Magnum
The Sniper Magnum is the heaviest pellet of the new Sniper product line. It is used primarily for hunting and long ranges. Like the Sniper Light, the pellet’s special shape reduces drag, which results in a flat trajectory. The shape of the foot ensures easy expansion for better sealing in the barrel.
.177 – Weight 15gr.
.22 – Weight 18gr.
Red Scorpion
Medium-weight, accurate hunting pellet for medium ranges. High impact and penetration. Aerodynamic design through plastic tip. Controlled expansion. Smooth with plastic tip. Attention: Not available in the USA!
.177 – Weight 8.33gr.
Piledriver
The Piledriver is a heavy boat-tail pellet that provides outstanding downrange energy. Tests show that caliber .177 barrels from different manufacturers need different body diameters. That is the reason why we offer the pellet in 4,50mm and 4,46mm body diameter. Only for PCP rifles!

.22 – Weight 30gr
Grizzly
Heavy hunting bullet for powerful air rifles. Star-shaped hollow point for ideal mushrooming (165% of caliber) and highest energy transfer in game. Hollow base for superior sealing and optimal energy utilization.

I used them long long time ago on my .22 Condor with not so good results, very unstable pellet.
Kinda like the driving bands on a cast bullet.
I was thinking the same thing. Also, it has no skirt so I wounder if the choke could cause an issue?
Do you think that design would work better if the vanes went against the rifling grooves instead of along with them?

I tried some pile drivers in my Rainstorm and was not impressed with accuracy. Actually the 28 g Eun gin pellets outdid them in accuracy and pellet drop.

+1 with an exception, I use Air Arms as well. But JSB makes too.
i tried them from 800 to a little over 1000 fps. They just wouldn’t work for me. I have sworn off every pellet except JSB. They just aren’t worth my time.
just out of curiosity what speeds did you shot them at? Not sure and folks correct me if I am wrong but with tumbling sounds like they need speed (800+) with a faster twist rate barrel.
Don’t bother with the piledrivers. I bought some a while ago and tried them in every gun I own. No manner the speed they tumble, I actually had them hit the paper sideways. They look good though. If you were going to shoot big critters at say less 20 yards I think they would be devastating.
The “Sniper” – line is just rebranded Defiant – a brand that hasn´t shot well in any of my guns. I don´t know anyone who has had any success with them Defiants. Too bad ..

your shot count would go way down and/or you would need a 24 to 28″ barrel to help with shot count and speed.

them .22 pile drivers are interesting…. wonder how they would do up around 950 1000 fps…… thats some serious power out of a .22
It is worth noting that there seem to be no gun where the .35 grizzly actually works. Either barrels are too large caliber (Korean guns) or the pellet skirt is left lying above the transfer port due to probe shape (Cricket).
Has anyone ever used the PILEDRIVER because they have been around for a couple years before H&N started making them. Get them up to 800fps it would retain 30ft bls @ 100yrds with at muzzel .095 BC

I’ve learned one thing about them Pellets : Both LW and CZ barrels work best with JSB’s. As does my Air Wolf. I always go back to JSB.
