Q:

New JSB .22cal 33.9gr (2.2g)

my brother Mika from French sent me lots of pics that taken at IWA ,,,one of them is about the new JSB .22cal (5.5mm) with a very heavy weight 33.9gr

but i don’t like the thin skirts … i prefer the thicker skirts for such long and heavy pellets ,,,not even for this,,,for all types and cals …

here is the pics

Pellets that long require faster twist rate in the rifling – or extreme Power to get them upto enough speed to get them into proper rotation. Iยดll pass ! The 25 gr JSB .22 would be a better choice due its much shorter length.

Haven’t shot my .22 cal. in ages since I up -graded my gun to .25 cal. and have never shot the new JSB 33.9gr. pellets . However , in .22
caliber my gun shot both H&N 18.21gr. Crow Magnum and EJ’s 28.5gr. pellets out to 50 yds. without any problems and at 45 yds. both
killed what I was shooting at . Don’t know if this info is of much help , but maybe to someone knew it will give them some kind of
input .

Such big and heavy pellets are not in my Hunting/ target level, so,, i don’t think i ever go to buy them,,, in my opinion for .22cal i don’t need heavier than 21gr..and i usually hunt and target practice with my favorite JSB/Edgun 18gr pellets,,, and for the .25cal is also i like the 25gr but with the shape / design of 18gr JSBs …

however JSB produced the 34gr heavy for 25cal in shape of 18gr ,,,but i also see the 34gr is more than i need … ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

i prefer the 18gr JSB .22cal shape for .25cal in 28gr … with thinker skirts for all types and clas …

Reminds me of a 6.5mm bullet..length to diameter. If you could drive them to 800…..interesting for sure. Excellent sectional density.

I’ve used the .177 beast pellet in my fx elite. Definitely needs to shoot fast. I turned up the monsters until they were accurate around 940 fps. The beast weren’t very accurate at 50 yds but then again I didn’t test them a whole lot. I’m guessing the mutant standard might launch these things up into the high 800’s. Like kyser said, the smaller profile would have less drag I think. I know the .177 monsters shoot a flatter trajectory than a .22 of the same weight.

I got some eunjin 22 cal pellets at 28.5 gr , My cricket shooting dead on at 940 fps shooting the JSB 18,13 gr is dead on at 38 yards.
It been a while back and I did not measure but the Eunjins droped about three inches at 38 yards.
125 pellets in a tin, I have two tins one only has 122 pellets in it.
You pay shipping and they are yours.

An AF Condor would be a good platform/candidate to experiment with these BEAST.

If they’re as awesome as the 177 cal Beast I’d buy.

24″ barrels will be needed for those at a minimum or use a crap load of air.
Goose, I have the need. The need for speed! and some “Helium”

Wow, they are huge ๐Ÿ˜ฏ imagine the bc and long range capabilities if they shoot well

Think I’d be wearing steel-toe capped boots whilst loading these bad boys, wouldn’t like to drop one on my toe ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Fudd the Ataman can be single loaded. Hmmmm. I need some of these pellets.

The .22 pellet has a better drag function than the larger pellets like .25. If those fit into an FX impact these could be really excellent in the 50-60 foot pound range. The impact properly set up could kick ass with those pellets. Can someone tell me the length of the beast?

:hoot:

Other than using them in the over powered and unregulated Korean guns, I don’t see what use they would have in a .22 pcp.

At nearly double the weight of 18.1gr…I wonder if they would be able to exceed 650-750 fps in an average regulated bullpup?

Gaining, perhaps…5 fpe, would it be worth adjusting the scope to use these pellets? Then the scope would be shooting way high for a standard pellet weight of 18 – 21gr, as the 33gr at 22 caliber fps would have a trajectory like a rainbow. Perhaps I’m wrong…but these effects would be present to some greater or lessor degree and need to be dealt with. I don’t see the value.

How long are they, do they fix into the Edgun Mags ?

Would like to know the best speed and the estimated BC if you’re testing them.

i don’t have/test them,,, the pics have been sent to me from Mika, as i said, and personally i don’t think i will need such heavy pellets for my .2cal guns,,,
