Q:

New Leupold Mark IV 8.5-25×50 LR TMR non-illuminated wahoo!

I ordered a leupold Mark IV LRT today and it’ll arrive in a couple days. Will post pics. Finally had the nerve to spend $1k+ on glass. Hope it’ll be worth it as leupold has a lifetime warranty at least.

I’m expecting it to be clear like this s&b one showing pics of 1 mile targets. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=264481&page=12

How’s the trigger? You should cover 5 shot group with a dime at 100y. I’ve done that with my friend’s AR from Les Baer. That’s why I want to have my own…one day 😀

Nice!

Glad to see you’re hooked!

The Mk IV’s have a ‘black’ ring instead of a ‘gold’ ring…

You know what they say…!!! 😈

I got out to the range yesterday. Kinda windy to say the least. Most of the people’s paper targets flew out of their wooden holders. The winds were clocked at 24 mph blowing at a 5 o’clock direction. My pvc/wood target holder was bending towards me at a 45 degree angle from the wind and they were gusts so it would move back and forth. 🙂

This 3″ target was at 100 yards. 5 shots. There was a shot at the edge but that was from another group 10 minutes earlier when I was sighting in.

I hit the gongs at 200, 300, 400, 500,and 600yds dead on with some slight holdover using the TMR reticle. I’m sold on this leupy scope. Thought 8.5-25x was overkill but it is just right…for me.

Very stoked 🙂 The color and clarity of the view through it is like plain tv going to high def. It’s unreal. I think alot of shit will be shot using this scope.

yep, been looking for 308 parts to slowly amass…. 🙂

Good stuff!!!

But with a scope like that, now you’ve gotta start thinking about upgrading from .223 to .308… 😉

Funny, this looks a little like a Condor, doesn’t it? 😯

The torture never stops….

(shout out to all you Zappa fans who get that line….)

You guys got all the good stuff. :5

You know, i have a gen 3 monocular that sits on a head mount. And it feels like wearing it while looking through a scope at night seems to be the most versatile and comfortable mix……as opposed to the night vision being scope mounted.

Yellow Ninja was the first to do the head mount here until i copied him.

We bought ours from here as the price was lower:

I dunno if the guy is still in business anymore as I bought it 4 years ago. I still have it and use it on occasion. It sits bedside and comes in handy when checking on bumps in the night.

Lino (Sacman) who used to be on more often has one too. I’m pretty sure he doesnt use his anymore and would be a good candidate to buy it off of….

Nice looking scope Mav….. My will power has really been tested a couple of times today of just picking up the phone and getting one of these on the way for my AR….http://www.nightvisiongearplus.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=1205175646

Thanks cris. The lifetime warranty no questions asks and a good history of replacing peoples scopes…even hand me downs made it easier for me to spend the dough on the leupold. It’s a bit too much for airguns perhaps but i’m using it for my centerfires.

I did receive the leupold today. The 8.5-25x zoom is a bit too much compared to my old leapers 4-16x…but i’ll just get used to it. I only looked thru this in the backyard at night today and it was crystal clear. I wish i had the leapers still to compare.

I think it’s a keeper as i get into more longer range shooting. Maybe someday even get a barrett. Also kinda miss the illuminated crosshairs but choose this one because it’s compatible with the barrett bors system…as the bors is on the wishlist.

I’ll take some pics through the reticle in the daytime.

Congrats!

I have owned this scope for several years now and its definitely everything you want and more.

I’ve got 4 Mark IV variants, and they are exceptional in every way.

I’ve shot through Nightforce, Sightron, S&B, US Optics and more, and for the money the Mark IVs stand up to them in my opinion. The repeatability, construction, ability to withstand harsh conditions, and product support are why I endorse the L&S line.

Thanks!
Cris
