Let me start off by saying that I have read alot of the posts on this site and have lurked here for quite some time, I am very happy that I found it. 🙂 We have quite a knowledgeable & humorous bunch here. 😆 I don’t want to waste alot of anyone’s time here, I will get right to my question.
I have a Condor in .22, I love this gun even though I don’t get to use it as much as I would like to. The only problem is with the foregrip or forearm grip, whatever you want to call it. I do not feel comfortable putting my hand that far out to support the gun while I shoot, I like to hold real close to the trigger guard.
I decided to put the foregrip as close to the trigger guard as possible with the stock AirForce components as I have seen before on this site, I have a picture from the post, but I dont remember the exact post.
So, I have at it and take my gun apart for the first time ever. My biggest mistake here was not looking at the components as they were immediately after I dis-assembled it 😥
I happened to lay the rifle in such a way that the safety rod spring fell out of the rifle 😯
The trigger schematics I found on this site and StealthResource.org show the safety rod spring in front of the safety rod. I want to know if this is actually accurate, because my gun DOES NOT go back together this way!!! When assembled this way the gun has no safety whatsoever due to the spring tension along with the safety rod being so far forward because of the channel groove cut into the “plate” that holds down all three trigger springs. I do not know if this makes any sense but it is really pissing me off ❗ ❗ ❗ 👿 👿
This is a very simple thing that just doesn’t seem to work. I have to put the safety rod ahead of the spring in the safety baulk piece in order for the safety rod to clear the trigger “plate”? I am very very sorry if this doesn’t make sense but I am at a loss for words here. I would like to know if anyone has some advice ❓ BTW, I know the difference between the old setup and the new setup. 😉
My gun does work just fine this way!? I just wanted to ask all of you guys who know more than I about this problem.

When I got my talon SS new it was quite hard to take the safety off. I could not do it with the trigger finger, I had to use my thumb and pinch toward the trigger guard.
I took it apart and polished the bottom of the sear and contact on the safety and now it is easy to do with my trigger finger just before the shot.

Thanks for the quick reply fellas 😀 , I just wanted to make sure I didn’t make some stupid newbie mistake and screw the gun up! The picture WalkOnKing shows is the one I was thinking of. I would have left the spring out all together, but the safety rod jiggles around so damn much without it.
As for Lama’s suggestion, I may just take the whole safety out eventually, I see now why so many complain about it after seeing how flimsy it really is.

The safety spring is in the wrong position with respect to the rod in that picture. At least my TSS doesn’t work with it there.
I took my spring out and do not use it at all.

I agree with you 100%. The same thing happened to me. My gun will only work properly if the safety rod is IN FRONT of the spring not behind it as Adam shows in the schematic.
I don’t know if something was changed in the design or what but my gun works perfectly this way and would not work when assembled as shown in the above drawing.
Adam (who I see is up early today), others, what are your thoughts.

I can’t help much with the safety thing, but I can ask you, how bad do you want it? A lot of people take it out, becuase it can get to a point where it shoots when you turn the safety off and random things like that. I haven’t had a safety in my gun for a couple years, easiest thing is to just decock the gun when you aren’t going to shoot it, then recock it for shooting. Just my .02.
