Hello everyone, wanted to introduce my self. my name is Dustin and I’m a airgun addict 😉 Im mainly a pest hunter. Been shooting a .22 disco for about a year and a half, and recently bought a air arms s200 hunter 10 shot .22 thinking about getting in to big bores for coyotes, fox, and bobcat. Got a lot of questions and this seems like a very knowledgable place and I hope I can learn a little.

So that gun came from the factory with the CZ barrel? I was reading about it at Pyramid and they don’t mention that. CZ guns shoot straight. I have a S410, (now the S510), in .22. It is a great gun. I am having problems with the magazine advance mechanism. I need to get it over to Steve at PAG to sort that out. It’s very accurate, and I really like the power adjustment feature. They’re great airguns. I started with a .22 Talon SS. It’s a great little carbine.

I purchased that model for its overall length its very short. I live out in the sticks so the loudness wasn’t a factor even though its not real loud compared to my disco. I was leaning towards a s510 and That will probably be my next purchase. But I wanted a short and light carbine for squrriel hunting and climbing up to ridge tops with a heavy gun ain’t no fun. The stock on the s200 fits me perfect, the trigger is great and its light but still heavy enough to make stable shots offhand , and CZ barrels have a great accuracy reputation and they don’t seem to need repetative cleaning for the best accuracy.
The best thing about my negative experience with sc is I bought the ProChrono Digital chronograph. It is sooo much easier to use, (better user interface), and I rarely ever get an error message. It seems like every limited shot string has some errors with the sc. The ProChrono also allows 99 shots per string which is great. Being limited to just 10 shots sucks.
Why did you select that AirArms gun? Pyramid lists it as being medium loud, which means very loud to me. Most of us buy the S410/510. (I’m just curious.)

There is indeed much to learn here, some you will likely wish you had not. But overall they are a pretty nice bunch of guys willing to share their enthusiasum (please ignore spelling) for airgunning.

According to the owners manual the rifle is equipped with a cold swaged barrell wich I assume is cold hammer forged barrel which I know CZ makes. Though cold swaging may be a winter passtime in Europe 😕
