New Mods on Condor
I recently installed the R&L Extreme Valve. The 43.2 Eunjin grouped very well as usual. The Eunjins seem to be going faster, but I don’t have a chronograph. My next step was to contact Jerry and he advised using the seven ring slugs. I originally thought the power level might not be up to the power necessary for a seven ring. Went to a 50 yard indoor range and sighted in for the seven rings. Once it was sighted in, my last five shots would have all hit a quarter. Last weekend, I took the Condor and the seven rings out hunting, and I won’t be going back to the Eunjins.
I did develop a problem while I was hunting. Taking the safety off caused the Condor to fire. I installed the SuperSear from AOA, and it seems to have fixed the problem. The trigger is very precise and an improvement over the stock Condor trigger.
By the way, I was wondering if anyone has tried Tony’s high performance one-piece tophat? I don’t really want to do too many more mods, because the rifle is working great as it is, but the tophat would seem like an easy mod.

I have already tried to fix the stock trigger assembly on the Condor, and could not get it reliable. Have already installed the SuperSear, which has been much easier and safer than the stock Condor unit. If any Condor owners haven’t messed with the stock trigger assembly, they’re really missing out on a lot of aggravation and frustration. The SuperSear really does improve trigger function. It takes a little more effort to snap the safety off. The trigger pull through the first stage is very smooth, and the second stage is light and precise. Might need to adjust the second stage for a little heavier trigger pull. It has passed the bump test.
I will take the Condor to the range soon, and do further testing with my new setup.
if you’re not averse to tearing into your trigger group, there’s a sticky in the quick reference section by Y. that should cure what ails ya.
Power is the main thing I would be looking for. I do like the solid construction of the one piece. Currently, my tophat is set at 0.07″. The seven ring slugs really give a hard hit on a jackrabbit. I usually hunt for raccoon, but having the trigger malfunction cut the hunt short. The stock trigger on the Condor is a nightmare.
i got one of Tony’s one piece top hats and it is an improvement. it’s stronger than the adjustable tophat, but, you obviously can’t adjust it if you want to put an o-ring behind it. if power is what you want, go with the one piece tophat. it will stand up to the abuse better than the two-piece.
Nice to read about another shooter doing well with the slugs!

Tony did my trigger, so, i don’t have any problems w/ mine. other than the side to side play, ( i’ll get around to addressing that one of these days ), the trigger is smooth as glass.
you still have your ” safety ” ? that thing ain’t nothing but a trigger that pushes rather than pulls. i made an o-ring puller out of mine. best thing i ever did.
