I can see what you mean about the grip – trigger alignment, something is just off a bit.
Once I get a bit more time tonight I’m going to compare it to my Garand and see if I can pin point the issue
Unfortunately I won’t have pump or optics for awhile, so no real playing with it . 😥
wasn’t thinking when I sold my talon SS that I would be getting back into it so soon, sold the pump with the gun 🙄
Advice….consider a used scuba tank. Check on Craigslist, Ebay, and other sites. You can generally pick up a used one for $100 or less. Just be sure it’s usable (in hydro and not more than five or so years old) Then all you need is al $40.00 scuba-air rifle fill device and you are ready to go. Most scuba shops will fill the tank if you advise them it’s not for human use. Be sure to check first. After that it’s usually $5.00 a fill and you get a lot of fills out of an 80 cf tank. After you pump that sucker awhile, you’ll see the light. Besides, you can get the scuba tank, fill valve for no more than you’ll spend for the pump alone.
Food for thought.
That stock is just too thick, pure and simple. If you have gorilla hands and a big body, it might work well. But it just doesn’t “fit” right for the rest of us. All custom rifle stocks, and factory stocks are slimmer.

What kind of numbers did you get with yours?? I’m curious as to your findings in stock set up compared to “post chop”. I received my frame yesterday…man that thing is SWEEEEEEETTTT!
Out of the box, I was getting around 750 fps with 21 gr Kodiaks, with the factory settings, and a 2500 psi fill. It’s capable of a lot better than that, based on posting from other owners.
The key now is lose some weight, some length, get the stock I can handle, and soup up the transfer tube/port, then I can start playing with adjustments.
I keep hoping he will get his HP valve for the Mrod on line soon. It sounds really sweet.

Haven’t decided if I want to chop mine down yet, but I am surely interested in that HP Valve. I want to see this thing be all that it can be. GO TX GO 😡

I’m lusting after your alum stock, saw that on the yellow, was glad to see it here too.
I’ll hopefully get my cnc mini mill back in action sometime this year and try to make something similar – lots of good ideas to steal

If you have any milling experience, consider redoing the transfer and barrel port. You’ll use more air, but it will kick out some serious fps/fpe. Teryx has developed a .160 bore transfer tube, and will drill my chopped barrel to match. I’ve got to have something to kick the fps back up after I chop 6″ off the barrel.
The only problem I have with the Mrod is that damn 4″ X 6″ beam they call a stock. I can hardly get my hands around it, and the trigger isn’t at all in a comfortable position for what I want to do. This thing is a race horse in disguise, and once I cut some weight and OAL off it, it will begin to show some serious improvement.

I just sent my Mrod off to get the barrel chopped to 14″, the shroud and air tube reduced in length, and a hi-flow port drilled for the barrel. I won’t get it back for a few weeks, then I’ll set up the chrony and see what happens.
Teryx is in the process of making a hi-flow valve for the Mrod, but it isn’t ready to go just yet. I’m hoping it will do for the Mrod what the Condor valve does for the Talon. The Mrod has so much potential, but very few after-market technicians have done much with it yet. I’m hoping Teryx gets a few more of his ideas on the market soon.
Anyway, this project is starting to get interesting. I’ll have pictures and results in a few weeks and post them for all to see. I’m a little late getting results because several buyers got stock orders in, and I have to wait my turn cause I wanted the custom stuff he’s doing on the side.
It’s in his hands and now I wait…..

Dogwood, congrats on the MROD. The stock is kind of lame in regard to the trigger hand position. Kind of like the awkward grip on the Korean guns…much more comfortable with the David’s aluminum frame!

Clean out the barrel real good before you shoot it.
When trying to adjust it, remember one of the three adjustments goes counter-clockwise to undo from factory setting, the other two are clock-wise.
I’d tell you which one, but I’m an asshole by nature, conviction, and general consensus.

What I found comparing it to my Gatand is that the grip is too far from the trigger, the Garand’s grip is thicker than the mrod’s but mich better positioned
I live in the mountains now, not a whole lot of scuba diving going on here
I used a pump for my SS, and I had a larger tank, from empty ( I was playing with the Valve) it did suck to fill, but for normal topping off it’s not too bad and the mrod’s tank is a good bit smaller
