Q:

New One Piece Stem!!!

Just received my new one piece stem from Dave424 😀 😀

Beautifully made and exactly to my requested specs 😎

I’m sure you are all aware of Dave’s work and his posts, a real sensible and talented guy.

What I bet you DIDN’t know, is that he is 17 years old 😯 😯

A few more young men like this and theres hope for my country yet. 😎 😎 😎

Anyone who has the factory 2 piece stem will know how crap they are. I’m sure Dave will make you one for a sensible price(what price can you put on an essential piece of kit like this??!!) Leupy does them for crazy money, and I’ve had both his and Dave’s in my hand and Dave’s is even better!!

Cheers Dave, you are a star mate 😀 😀 😀

Dave, time to post up a pic of yourself in the off topic thread 😀

I’m trying dude. Not long caught it on my desk which set it back a week or so. Have been told by the surgeon I’m looking at 8mths at least before its back to normal, if ever. 🙁

No its a 53cui tank, very much like the stock tank(38cui) but a little fatter. As seen on my crap vid in the gallery section.
Yes, 2500 reg.

Oh ya sorry I member now. Nice now go fix your hand so you can shoot 100 yard groups lol.

Yes, 2500 reg.

This reg is doing this tight over 40 shots! 😎
You just fill to 3000 and away you go for 40 shots

Stock tank? 2500 reg?

well i am trying to figure out ,

1. what the fps variation difference, does to my groups.

I can get my condor down to like 10 to 14 fps variation on a 15 shot set up.

I have had as little as 3fps on any givin 5 shot group.

but this is only when i have the gun in best sweet spot , of power wheel set to top hat , with just enought air to run 15 pellets.

like righ now i am running 14 grain pellets at 750 fps, so the fill is 1850psi, with top hat at .075 with oring, and power wheel at 3.0.

I am at the very end of the top side of the curve , so it peaks in about 7 or 8 shots the comes down for 7 or 8 shots.

This is how i get the peak consistancy out of my condor, for the longer range groups.and fps spread.

Massive. My BSA barrel and kings are very accurate, but an fps change of 10 or more changes my poi. Not anymore. I’ve not done any long range stuff yet, but when I hand my blodvalve rig tuned, 100 yards was around 1.5″ I’m confident that I could do sub inch now. Or did I do some long range?? 😕 Man, these pain killers really mess up my brain….
On 15 shots, it will vary maybe 4fps at most!! What I have found though, at least with mine, if I don’t take a shot for 5mins or more the next shot is overpowered by 20 or so fps.Not a problem when you are banging out shots at a target, but not good when out hunting…. I will set my scope to the overpowered shots for hunting, and re zero the scope for target

What is the differance from what you were seeing before you put the reg on it.

And say on any given 15 shots , what is your fps vary.

One holers out to 50, thats all I got to do before I messed up my hand.

Oh yeah , that would be sweet way to do it Pab. What accuracy differance are you seeing with the regulator set up. I know you said like 6fps differance on the string.

Idea is to tune your rifle with the adjustable stem, then measure and order one piece in that size. Change pellets? Then take the adjustable stem measurements for that tune and order one in that size. We all only use 1 or 2 different pellets so you only need to order 2 maybe 3 at most. Trust me, it takes away A LOT of the stress those shitty stock stems/tophats cause, and vastly improves consistency.

I saw someone on here that threaded the inside of the th and had diff ID plugs to change velocity. Seems like a good idea.

that’s pretty sweet, one piece, no adjustment i guess.

How much of a pain would it be to have collars that would slide over the front of the valve, between the top hat and the hammer , that could be put on or removed for fine tuning.

benneyboy , blue locktite, have had it on mine sinse day one. just have to redo it from time to time. never had mine loosen up , untill the locktite wears from messing with it.

Nice Dave! Tunning with the stock th sucks! Unless you locktite you gotta go back every 5 shots and tighten it down.

That’s good looking work Dave keep it up..Greg
