Q:

new pump , did I screw up?

I’m new to airgunning and just purchased a pcp. I have yet to receive it in the mail…hopfully it will be here this week.. I have already purchased a Hill pump…..Now I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t have purchased a carbon fiber tank from Air Hogs instead…..I was just looking at their site and I think I could get about 90 charges for my gun before having to get the tank refilled…..AND….please correct me if I’m wrong….but the air , if I got it from a paintball store, would be dry and of good quality….I would appreciate any comments…..thanks, don

If you do alot of shooting you will grow tired of pumping all the time, but
even if you get a tank, I would keep the pump. You can save some
money on refills by pumping when you feel like it, or just pump it up
if you can’t or don’t want to run to get your tank filled.

X2 😉

Well, you did buy the right pump. 😉

So if you switch to a tank you can sell it, if you bought an AirForce pump you would not be able to sell it (for close to what you paid).

Pumping isn’t too bad if you have a Talon but if you are looking at heavy pellets as big around as possible you’ll want a tank.

I just set my TalonSS up as a Condor with a 24″ .25cal barrel and the tank empties way quicker now…

I feel much better having heard from the 2 of you…..I’ll check around and see about finding a place or two, to have a tank refilled before purchasing one. Until then I’ll give the Hill pump a try…..thanks don

my local paintball store wont fill scuba tanks and all the scuba shops around here max at 3500 psi so you might check around to see if you can even get it filled before buying.

Pump isnt bad. the first fill is the worst. topping off after that takes like 5 minutes.

The Hill pump is one of the best Don. If it has the moisture filter you will be
fine… The Hill pump sells quick if you decide to buy a CF tank later….
