New R3 standard .22 on the way! (UK) …and a question
Hi there,
I have been lurking for a while and now managed to register (has taken me 5 attempts!).
I will become a matador owner in 2 days (set at 11.5ft lbs), they are quite difficult to get here in UK!
Just a question, if I may:
does it come with a threaded hole underneath the stock for a stud?
not very keen to drill a hole myself, but I really want to fit a bipod.
I have just ordered a Bushnell legend 5-15×40 mil dot, heard nothing but good reviews, I hope Im gonna like it (must be better than my BSA contender 4-16×40 mildot ir, currently used on another rifle and a bit disappointed about!).
I have also ordered the leapers utg qd medium mounts, i didn’t want to buy the high ones as i like the scope as near the barrel as possible. I have a small built and i like to sqeeze my cheek on the cheekpiece, so it should be fine.(i guess!)

i have a high speed casio exilim and the same scope attachment that TED uses (thanks mate for the good hints!)

So “Super…” exactly what kind of bipod is that, and did you purchase it on-line?
Rough idea of cost?

If you want to best Bipod, go for a Atlas Bipod.. The best here is 🙂
You can use this bipod also with the legs straight
And a Helicoil is no epoxy and you have to drill
Also, googling “helicoil bipod” doesn’t get any relevant entry, any link?

I like this bipod very much, especially as it looks very light.
I currently use a harris style extendable on my other rifle.
Funny the way this one opens, the legs rest at an angle… I’m more used on them falling straight, perpendicular to the rifle.
Do they stay firmly in place or do they wobble? I don’t see any spring keeping them firm?
I’m sure i will mess everything up with epoxy, i’m much better at drilling, so the stud with buried nut is the way to go for me…

I used a helicoil (2) for a bipod
yoda if you are handy with a dremel tool or similar, you can get a small metal plate and rout out a place for it in the stock under the air tube. All you would have to do is rout out a place for this plate that you have allready drilled and tapped, and epoxy it in place. to locate the hole through the bottom of the stock just drill a smaller hole through the threaded hole then enlarge the hole in the wood a bit to accept your bolt you will be using!

I like the suggestion someone made, instead of screwing the stud in, make a larger hole to bury a threaded nut inside, so that screwing/unscrewing the stud overtime, doesn’t “chew” the wood.
…but this means drilling a bigger hole!!! Damn!;)

Welcome to the forum.
There’s no hole in the stock, you’ll have to drill one yourself. I wasn’t very keen to drill a hole myself, but once I did it, it looked good and practical.
