Q:

New Scope

I currently have a Bushnell 5-15×40 Legend and I am very pleased with it. That said, it fits my Savage .17 Grouse Gun far, far better than the Talon, so I would like to put a new scope on the Talon and transfer the scope to the .17.

Ok. So, I worked my a** off this summer working at the Hobby Shop, Mowing Lawns and doing yard work for my neighbors. I saved well over half of the money earned and and now I have some cash to play around with. I am looking for a scope with a fine reticle, decent magnification range (better than the Bushnell), good light transmission, sidewheel parallax and most of all, repeatable clicks .

I’m not putting a price restriction on this, but that said, I am not spending $500+ on some extravagant scope with all the doodle bobbers.

Is this for target work or hunting or both? I have a cheap leapers fixed 4 power that works amazingly well for how cheap it was. I’m guessing here, but I think I got lucky OR the fact that it’s a fixed power helps in keeping it dead on. Plus it’s light.

Targets and some hunting, but the hunting is in open areas and doesn’t require a small scope.

I’ll throw out one suggestion the Weaver V-16-42mm. Bright clear optics .. short target turrets under the caps that have repeatable clicks. It’ available in a matte finish and fits on the Talon nicely with Medium rings.

Order it with the FCD reticle which is what I have in mine. Fine Crosshair Duplex … great for shooting groups and hunting with.

Only 1 more power than your Legend but much nicer optics … no side wheel focus you have to reach out and turn the bell for the AO … but it’s nice and smooth not like what the Legends typically have on them.

$ 295.00 at Optics Planet including the shipping .. I highly recommend the V-16 😀
