Q:

New scope for Leshiy

I have a Leapers 4-16 X44 compact the better model with the etched reticle that I’m thinking on using of my Leshiy which I’m getting. Can some of you give me a critique of this scope choice.

I’m waiting for my Leshiy to arrive so I haven’t tried it yet. I’m trying to use an existing scope I already have just to save a little cash and the Leapers is the shortest decent scope in my gun safe. I just have to figure out what scope rings to use so the objective clears the silencer on the Leshiy. I have had good results on other rifles with the FX adjustable rings I’ll post pictures after its set up.

Hi,

Have you tried the scope on your leshiy? Any impressions? Have you used the stock mounts that come with it? How far back did you positioned it? Any pics?

I have one on order and waithing to use it

tsa , sounds a little scary to me . Why would you want to sell your new Edgun Leshiy so fast ?

I want that gun!

Does anyone know where Tsakula lives? I’ll try to buy it, but if he refuses, I’ll sic my dog on him, grab the gun and run like hell!!!

I’ve had this one and the 3-12X version. I preferred the lower powered version as it’s ever so slightly clearer at high magnification. I found this to be true of the 3X9 version as well.

Given the range of the pcp airguns, for hunting and general target shooting…less power is always clearer. Bench rest shooters need all the magnification they can get, but those of us doing “general” shooting are best served with 10X and lower. Also, for what it’s worth…the single power scopes, in the higher magnifications, tend to be much clearer since they don’t use a movable magnifying 2X/3X lens that changes the power. Multi-power scopes have trade-offs in clarity in order to provide a range of magnifications.

Ed uses a 10X single magnification scope for his work at Edgun. While your milage may vary…there is a lot to be said for finding a single power scope that suits your personal needs. The Soviet Dragunov sniper rifle has historically always used a 4X scope! A lot of deceased individuals will comment positively on it’s effectiveness at just about any range! And, it’s still in use today!

I ran this scope on my P-Rod for a long time and it was GREAT. (for the money)

It’s now sitting on one of my Ruger 10/22’s and it’s still GREAT.
