Q:

New style breech?

I ordered another breech assembly from AF the other day. The idea was to put a ‘hammer slap’ mod of some sort on it and swap it out for the one now in the gun.

The one in the gun as a notch at the bottom on the hammer side, the new one has three much larger notches on it. One at the bottom, one on each side making the end a ‘three sided square’ (the top is still round).

Anyone seen this before? Anyone know what’s up? They cut away the places I was thinking of drilling and tapping two screw holes to hold a pad of some sort…….

an EDGE breech maybe. the edge is ambi. and side cocking therefore would need two flats, depending on the orientation of the cocking handle. Maybe to keep production cost down they now make it with 3 flats so as to fit all af guns with only one part.

That is strange. Install it and shoot. See if it changes the sound of he hammer slap.
