Q:

NEW style gun – WONT cock

Instead of making anew thread, just figured I’d edit the text lol….

Anyways, yeah as I said I did loosen the set screw. I had a friend do it for me and he said my gun was messed up. I bought it used and the original owner tightened it way too much. He had to use a vice and grips to even get it to budge…now it works fine…almost had to talk to AF to fix it…

Now….
I have another problem. When going to put everything back in my gun (i just gave him the frame/tank when he helped me get it off) the gun won’t cock…I have a Talon Tunes 95g hammer w slap mod in the gun and i’ve taken apart/rebuilt it MANY times now. Did nothing different, but this time the gun WON’T COCK…or if it does cock, the safety gets stuck and i can’t use t he trigger.

I have the NEW STYLE gun/trigger group hence the spin loc. I’ve dropped like $1000 on this gun and im not sure what the problem is, its like the sear isn’t engaging right or something…

I know there have been TONS of threads about people having trouble with their guns not being able to cock but most were the older style guns and threads from like 2009 and 2011, so im wondering, on a new style gun, what could cause it not being able to cock? If it’s a problem I can’t fix, where/who can I send it to? Only person I know (doug/dyotat) is very busy, and i don’t think AF would build a gun with modded parts in it lol. Not sure if Tony would do something like this, or only just tunes guns.

If anyone can help I’d be VERY happy as I really liked this gun/platform…just got into AF guns, never touched them as I heard they always had problems lol…but now I’m here with $1000 that I can’t use, so ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You need to tighten the grub screw and turn the tank to loosen it. Then loosen the screw and use the wrench. But first you have to break the tank loose.

Also, you cannot “spin” the tank off. You must turn the castle nut inside the frame with the castle nut wrench provided by AF with the gun. After a turn or 2, you can hold the tank as centered as possible and screw the internal castle nut off the tank, then pull the tank straight back away from the frame.

I’m a serious noob at this after having been into all kinds of other powder burners, and without the videos from this site, I’d have never gotten my new Condor together with that spinloc tank. It is confusing!

Good luck!

You have to loosen the set screw above the left side of pistol grip.
