Q:

New Talon Project

Had gotten this Condor on a trade…. didnt come with a tank so I picked up a Talon tank from a member here.

Since I got a Pulaskius one piece stock coming for my .25, I put the grips on my .25 on this gun.

The Talon tank didnt have the neoprene cover so I wrapped it with parachute cord, added a WokButt, threw on an old brake, and added an E-TaC to it. The combination of the E-TaC and WokButt makes it a very comfortable feeling gun.

Did a bit of tophat tweaking the other day on it and wanted decent power and good consistency… I think I did ok. I used Premier 14.3gr to test since I had plenty of them. Turns out they grouped well, too.

3000psi fill down to 2400psi….

hell worth a try

by the way i like the cord wrap on the tank a nice simple look but different than ive seen befor

Never know until you ask! haha…

Glad someone likes the cord wrapped tank. I’ve not seen that done either so I was quite happy with myself on doing it. I’m sure some asshole will now post a pic from back in 2005 where someone already done this…haha…. but as far as I know, it’s not been done yet.

Two questions, 5 @ 50 means at 50 yards?

14.3 premiers , you mean .22?

50 yards….. I dont do meters…. 🙂

and yes, .22 Crosman Premiers, which are 14.3gr. I didnt want to run a string and waste that many JSB’s or Kodiaks so I used what I had. That equates to roughly 35fpe, so I figure the 16gr JSB’s should give just a RCH higher and Kodiaks should be doing in the 37-38fpe range.

Thanks all… was happy I did that with only 600psi of air. Was nothing to fill back up and start shooting again.

Of course, I could get more shots by accepting a wider velocity spread, but I think the current setup will give me a decent number of shots at near regged consistency.. accuracy, as you can see…is good and I like the looks and feel of the gun. I’m not so sure about the brake on it, but it’s one I had lying around so thought I’d put it to use.

35 good shots!

Well done!

Not alot more to be said about that string.. 8)

Terrific numbers ! But it looks like your new E-Tac is bent !

That rocks Rob! Great Curve! 😉

Is that a full length 24″ barrel? The Brake makes it look a bit shorter.

Mike

Thank you, sir…

it is a 24 inch barrel, yes. The brake is pushed down all the way on the barrel and is a true brake rather than a mod. I have a shroud that came in the trade…works well, just is a bit ugly. I may sell it here at some point. I just had that brake lying around and thought I’d put it to use.

Thanks , yall…. I really got lucky on this one.

Filled to 2900psi, set the PW to 4. Wanted around 35fpe so I kept fiddling with the tophat until I got around 1045fps from the premiers. Didnt shoot more than 5 and then I’d top off… when I got around 1045, I stopped…. filled to 3000psi to get a bit more of a bell and tried it out….

I got lucky in that it seemed to work out well for me. Much can be said for dumb luck… 😉

WOW…… don’t friggin touch that dial!!!!!!!

That is amazing Rob, you dun fine!

Now tell me how you did it so I can start a tuning business…….

Walter…
