The JSBs don’t seem to need washing to me. I only wash the Eunjins because they do come with some lead flek and bits on them that you wouldn’t really want to put in the barrel. But they are fabulous pellets and well worth the time giving a quick rinse. Dropped a pigeon this afternoon with the 28gr Eunjin after my gun had already fired forty plus target shots with JSBs and it was instant lights out for the pigeon at about forty yards. I have tried all the popular pellets and Eunjon and JSB come our best in the Airforce guns. Don’t bother with predator polymags as they aren’t accurate enough. No good having take down without accuracy.

And yes I would add a few drops of a light pellet oil to all my tins. But you don’t need much. Four or five drops disperse amongst all the pellets within a few days.

If it puts you in a good mood she will see the change and positively link the two. That’s what mine has done so she tolerates me in “AA” (Airforce Addiction). Yup I would go for some Eunjin domed then for your hunting pellet with accuracy and the JSB 15 gr for your target practice. You will smoke a starling with a 15gr JSB but I wouldn’t go much higher on game size than that without sliding in one of your Eunjins. I find the Eunjins need washing with a little soapy water which is very easy. Just swill them around in some water with a little detergent then rinse them, then let them dry on some paper towel. Then put them back in the tin with a few drops of light oil. Put a few drops of light oil in all your tins for self cleaning lubricating of your barrel as you go along.

You can get some good power with your gun following some of the tips on this forum and with Tony’s bits and the advantage is your gun will also be lovely and quiet. Definitely backyard friendly. Enjoy. :fishinghole:

What length barrel are you running now Birdman? How does it work out extending the barrel on the Talon SS? Do you bother then sticking a moderator on the end of your barrel or do the internal baffles keep the noise down?

Countrydoc I don’t think you answered Lurker’s questions on calibre and barrel length? Probably the most important thing is to put the pellets in for the task you are trying to achieve. You have hunting pellets and target pellets. A good hunting pellet that is still very accurate is Eunjin domed. I’ve just experimented with some Eunjin pointed and they seem too big for my barrel so I’ve rejected them. So for your Starlings and other vermin I recommend Eunjin domed. For your target shooting when its all about accuracy not take down I recommend JSB. Depending on what calibre and barrel length, which is why Lurker asks the question, one grain JSB will be better than another in your gun. When I had the 12 inch barrel my gun liked the 15gr JSBs best but now I’ve moved to 24 inch it loves the 18gr JSBs best.

I think you should also learn how to strip your gun, and forgive me you may know already, and it does need greasing in certain areas from time to time. There is then all the fun of fitting the trick bits to it to get more power, consistency, etc but have some fun with it first, as a package from the factory it should be fine.
