New Talon Tunes 22 Cal Condor SS
Finally got my Condors SS in 22 cal from Tony a couple of days ago. It of course has been tuned and i added his quick change top hat and his six inch shround. This is going to be my groundhog hunting rig and wanted to keep it fairly light. I was very disappointed the first day I went out and could not hit the side of a barn. Tony had included a target with 5 shots at 30 yard were less that a dime so I knew it could shoot. I called Tony and he thought it might be clipping of the sound loc or shround. I did an inspection and could not find any marking. I had just start using a different method of lubing pellets and thought excess lube could be the problem. Today I went out with unlubed pellets and that was definitely the problem. So today I got on paper and ran some shot strings and I was very impressed with the results. Mark right now I am using a Hawke Sport Optics Vantage 4-12×50 AO Rifle Scope, Ill. Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube. It was on my 15 year old Talon SS in 22 cal. which I put on the disabled list till I got the tank hydro tested. I had bought that scope for night time ratting with the Ill. reticle which I really like. Being the Talon is single shot and loading pellets at night can be somewhat tricky I just bought a Hatsan AT44 10 which is being tuned to work with a regulator. The scope I bought to put on this Condor is the Aeon 6-24×50 AO Classic Rifle Scope, Trajectory Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 30mm Tube. I like the somewhat light christmas tree reticle with all the aim points but boy is it a heavy scope though compact. The turrets are somewhat mushy but at air rifle ranges I will probably being doing hold over. Since I have not mounted the scope and used it I can’t do a complete review yet.

Today i have been looking at the Hawke sidewinder but i was not to sure weather my DIY NV would work, with the ret been really fine so i bought a Yukon Photon XT 6.5×50 S
As i dont shoot much during the day only a few pigeons it should be ok.
