new to edgun
Happy Easter to all,
I got my first edgun matador r3m .22 standard, my friend got r3m standard .25, we tested the 2 guns on saturday using the recomanded jsb pellets.
The 25 velocity was consistant at 940fps with 40 shots from 220 to 120bar where mine was set to 885fps and got 60 shots fron 220 to 125bar.
What is the ideal velocity for 22?
I have the HST set now to 930fps and getting 40 shots.
Should I get it back to 880fps? What is the best setting for 22?
And by the way, my gun don’t have that place to store the magazine like the 25!! and the HST screw doesn’t have any hex head, I used a Pliers to set!!

I’d suggest staying around 915 FPS
thank you for the explanation, i was thinking the same as for the 20 more shots and the stability of pellets at high speed, but i needed a second opinion on this.
I would recommend sticking with the 885 FPS. I know the temptation is to turn it up for more FPS but in all honesty it has been my experience that the JSB 18.1 perform best in the low to mid 800s. I think sub 900 is just about right and 20 more shots is totally worth it. Think about it like this. At 885 throwing the 18.1 JSB you’re getting 31.49 ft/lbs. At 940 with an 18.1 you are getting 35.52 ft/lbs. The difference of 4 ft/lbs is not worth losing 20 shots. If you calculate the number of shots vs ft/lbs you are really losing long term efficiency by having the gun set at 940. Per fill at 940 you are getting 1420 ft/lbs vs 885 giving you 1890 ft/lbs.

I agree. Especially if you are using it for pesting. The extra velocity will be more forgiving for mis calculations in range and has more knock down power with only minimal impact on shot count and accuracy…
