New to Forum asking scope recommendations
Hi All
I have been reading/enjoying the forum. I have become interested in the Talon SS as a light-wt quiet rifle for my back yard where I shoot paper and magpies. I have yet to buy but am looking at scopes. I want a light weight scope, don’t care about illumination. I want AO, mil-dot, and something in the 3-12 range. Does a glass etched reticle make a noticeable difference? I would welcome recommendations for a Talon scope.

The Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9×32 AO, Mil Dot is a 12oz scope with good reviews. Has anyone experienced it?
I dont have the weight on hand for the weaver but it is a short scope it is only 12″ long and fits my talon and condor well.

I forgot to include my price range is $150-$250. I will look at the Weaver. I agree about the UTG–I have a 4-16×44 side wheel UTG on my Mrod and it is too big heavy (like my Mrod). I thot about the Hawke Varmint 3-12×44 which weighs 17 oz and is side focus. Does anyone have the Mueller 4.5-14 x 40mm AO? It weighs 17 oz.? I am off to research the Weaver.
What is the price range you want to be in? Weaver makes a scope that is 2.5 – 10 with a 30 mm tube in the kaspa series and has parallax that goes down to 10 yds for $200 and does have a mil dot glass etched reticle that is also lighted. I know you dont care about lighted but for the price its a good scope much better than a +$200 utg or something similar. Glass etched reticles are usually much more crisp and not as large as a wire reticle plus if it is lighted it is allot better to have an etched reticle.
