word. my old man has a masters in er something and my mom has to match his clothing. i dropped my community college classes, so im banking on some mechanical/trade skills lol. speaking of addictive types, now that im off the dope im on the springs and pcp err airguns. yakima, hmm ive got cousins in orville, republic, levenworth and malot. are there any good ft clubs or gatherings in washington? and thanks all, much more welcoming here than that yellow place. glad to know there are other borderline folks arounds. -please excuse gramatical/spelling errors, mr.pabst is a terrible editor and ought to be sacked
Hey averageasian welcom to the nut house….. I’m in yakima, this is a great site for info and a horrible site for those who have addictive personalities….

😆
I hear ya. My mom has a EE and math degree from Case, basically a computer science degree before they were offered.
She has a really hard time with addition and subtraction… Must be too many numbers and not enough letters. 😆
I started in ME and switched to a BArch… Wish I would have also complete the ME degree… 😉
oh, i didn’t say i was uneducated. and, i do know some physics.
i have a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and phd in mathematics, as well as, having been a post-doctural scholar at ucla and then changed careers and got an md from yale.
it’s those pesky traits associated with everyday practical smarts that seem to occasionally escape me. and asking for help is pretty much anathema to me.
so, the above airforce rail-size fiasco is not a once-in-a-lifetime dummy move on my part. i have a knack for doing that kind of stuff.
WELCOME TO HELL!! MUWHAHAAHAAHAAAA!! :tag:
😆 😆 😆
Sorry kglad99, you can’t fool me… Mr. Physics himself! 😆
How about those 3/8″ rails… 😕 I think Af would probably sell a few thousand more of these rifles if they had a decent scope rail. 😉
I have a Weaver/Picatinny rail on my 10/22 and I can remove the scope and base (it’s a one piece base) to disassemble for cleaning, when I replace it it’s still set to zero.
I have to shim the 11mm rail on my TalonSS, it’s not centered on the rifle (it’s probably the TriRail that is poorly machined), but what makes it a pain is the thin shim needs to be put in with a pair of tweezers…
I would add that the 11mm rings that work the best are the center pull rings, the mount I am currently running has a solid rail on one side that is the clamping part and it’s not self centering…
Is it BKL that makes the centering rings… 😕
sir, im am not stupid simply because i didnt know the rail size. i believe my misspellings, juvinile humor and many other things not least my participation in this forum, all point to a poor intellect
hey,
both you guys are stupid for not knowing af rifles have 11mm rails.
however, i have reason to believe that i’m dumber than both of you. i actually bought a nice laser that fits weaver rails because i was too stupid to ask or check.
of couse, it didn’t fit my talon ss. so i bought a dovetail to weaver adapter. that actually worked ok but i thought it added too much weight so i bought a cheap laser just to get a laser holder that fit 11mm rails.
unfortunately, the cheap holder’s internal diameter is too small to fit my nice laser. now, i’m paying a machinist to bore that cheap holder’s internal diameter to fit my nice laser.
so, i think we can safely say there are, at least, 3 dummies in this forum. but, like i mentioned, i think i take top honors for stupidity.
welcome on TAG forum, i’m also new and until now it’s all good… nice ppl on this forum, and tons of info. all u need is time
see it all here? like twitter weiners? my disco is in .17 its got a cothran riser breech, made a few transfer ports (the one that is in is around .1) chopped barrel and tko. also a challenger/mrod trigger, challenger hammer&spring&power adjuster. i harlequined my stock so id like to get a nice one. im using the pump that came with it. it works, kinda sketchy but cant complain. i live in the bellingham,wa. about 100m north of seattle.
Welcome averageasian!

I can assure you you will be above average here on the TAG!!! Asian, or otherwise!!! 😆 😆 😆
Glad you joined! Sounds like you will fit in if you like what you see here.. and you will see it all…. believe me…. 🙄 🙄 🙄 😆 😆
When I joined all I had was a Gamo Big Cat and a Crosman 1088 pistol!
Now, I still don’t have an AF gun, or even a PCP yet, but I am working up to it. I now have 4 air-pistols, and 4 air-rifles!!! All either pump up or spring/nitro-piston. and this in just 2 years time!!!
Next will be a PCP of some type, probably a Discovery or similar type in another brand to start with.
Is your Discovery a .177 or .22? Any mods made to it yet?
How do you fill it? favorite targets, etc, etc. etc.
Where do you live?

Yes all rails on AF are 11mm dovetail.
Not a stupid question I could not find it here either, unless we are both stupid 😆
I really like my .25 Marauder! The TalonTunes .25 Marauder must be an exceptional airgun as is the proven AAA .25 Condor. You can’t go wrong with those two choices. 😉
mostly paper. some birds but i cant call that hunting. ive got my disco sorted out for the most part, and idk about the next. i want a pistola but those 25s are oh so enticing. this is a dumb question but i cant find it anywgere, are the accesory rails on the af guns all 11mm?
