TD; yep, you have to cut both breech blocks and machine the probe to get the mod to work. The vid doesn’t show how the probe is now sealed so that the air pressure pushes the pellet out of the barrel and not in your face!
I have studied that video and it looks like there is one O ring that has been fitted to the cut off front breech block. There “might” be room for 2 O rings, I can’t tell from the vid.
During shooting, I have had a couple of times that I have had the probe O rings start to leak. I just starting getting a puff to the eye and cheek. I kept on shooting. It didn’t take long for the rear O ring to blow out and the air blast stung my cheek and my right ear rang of a few minutes. I am a slow learner but, I learned that if I felt a puff, it was time to change O rings.
90 Duro O rings solved the probe leakage problems but; I am still leery of the puff! I don’t think that I would be feeling all warm and cozy with only one probe O ring on the FX mag mod. The mag could deflect the blast but; I really wouldn’t feel safe shooting the Matador without eye protection and ear plugs.
I am not interested in an Edgun magazine mod. I know that a lot of you guys are. I wouldn’t cut up one of my Matadors to fit a FX mag on it. If I ever did, I would make damn sure that the shortened front breech block had room for two O rings.
Just my 2 cents worth.
