Q:

New Vulcan Questions

I got my New Vulcan the other day and had an issue right out of the box. When I tried to pull the bolt back so I could insert the magazine the bolt would only move about 2/3 of the distance of the bolt slot. I removed the stock and discovered that the bolt was spring bound. With the spacer #107, from the parts diagram, the spring was completely compressed before the bolt would lock open. I removed the power adjuster, part #72, and removed the spacer, part #107, then reinstalled the power adjuster. After doing that the bolt will open and the gun will cock. Now some questions about other new Vulcans. The parts diagram shows a #71, insertion main spring, that is absent from my striker assembly. I would like to know how Vulcans that functioned out of the box have their striker assembly put together? Specifically is part #107 present and how long is it if it is? Is part #71 present? With the striker bush removed and my power adjuster in two turns from flush I am getting an average velocity of 892fps with jsb kings. I haven’t really worried about trying to tune yet, want to figure out how the striker assembly was intended to be assembled and am I missing parts.

I was told today by Tony to be patient on my Vulcan. He was not going to ship my gun without running a good string over a crony and checking all the functions. I told him to take his time. Dealing with problems before they are shipped at the vender is the way to go.

Thanks
Tony

Oak that is precisely why I decided to buy mine from Tony. What can be more of a pain then opening up your gun and find something wrong. Kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth. They don’t come cheap so there is a certain expectation there to begin with.

I talked to Peter today and I guess there have been several Vulcans with the same issue mine had. The solution so far has been the same. Remove the striker bushing and all seems to be well. He wasn’t where he could lay his hands on a gun to look at it but he said he would do some checking and get back to me.

The Vulcan in question came from Topgun. I haven’t talked to Peter yet

First I would like to ask did you get your gun from Tony at TT if not who did you get this Vulcan from and have you contacted them? Then I would refer you to Mr. Ville the board drunk. He has most likey had his gun apart a few times. I am not certain what condition he was in when he disassembled it, most likely not sober. But he operates best when drunk however his English sucks and he types for shit. But Pm Mr. Ville he is sometimes cooperative.

pm: Sir Ville
