Q:

New Vulcan Tactic shot string

Just got a new .25 Vulcan Tactic. Installed the side cocking lever on it. Really makes it much better.

Here is the first shot string. Started at 250 bars. What do you guys think, is it shooting fine or does it need some adjustment?

You’ll love the cocking lever it works as smooth as butter

Shot string looks awesome, if it shoots good leave it alone.

That’s exactly what I have in my mind.

Will recheck the cocking lever as per Uncle Hoot: advice

Hoot, what length the medium length m3 screws are in yours now, I remember you had them bottoming out before they fixed the hinge block? 6-8mm? any chance you remember the cylinder clamp screw length? M4x what? thanks

:hoot:

Wrong wrong wrong….Dolt!!!

Mine never “bottomed out”, I just noticed that there was a right way and a wrong way to install that hinge block. The first time I got it upside down, the that made the lever stiff and hard to move, that’s when my native genius took the helm, loosened up the screws, turned the plate, adjusted it a bit on it’s vertical plane, tightened the screws, which then corrected the stiff action.

The exact metric size of those screws, should you wish to replace them, is…(and this assumes you are in the U.S. being serviced by a Spanish speaking clerk) “Corto! RĂ¡pidamente porcina“. This will ensure your correct, and timely, receipt of the correct screws!

I sincerely hope this advice serves your needs, as I am only on this forum to respectfully assist and serve those forum members in need of answers which they are unlikely to receive from any other humanoid on this planet!

Please, no need for thanks! It’s just the way I roll.

Being new the cocking action is not that smooth so the lever stays open even with the muzzle facing down.

:hoot:

Hey Hazmat….

I had the same problem with my cocking lever and discovered the square plate the cocking handle is attached to can be moved up and down to adjust for friction. You might loosen the screws a tiny bit and move that plate up and down to see if that smooths out the cocking/locking action.

Any advice on where to order the cocking lever from?

I have a First Gen .25 Vulcan and I changed out the bolt action for the new lever action on my gun . I have not had any
problems with the action staying open , maybe like Hoot says you may have a problem with your side plate alignment
on the newer Gen guns . Also the new lever action mod really makes the best action type for cycling your pellets for a
more smoother and faster cycling action . I really love it and will never go back to the old bolt action .

do another one at 880fps, or even lower just for fun, should improve the shotcount. I see the tactic is more for benchrest or competition so I guess you want to improve the shotcount. try 880 and 850 for us and see.

how does the thing group?

Thanks everyone for the appreciation.

4 mags i.e. 36 shots are very consistent. Can be stretched to 40 shots.

Being new the cocking action is not that smooth so the lever stays open even with the muzzle facing down.

Now waiting for an opportunity to shoot at target. I might have to wait for some time as the winds are quite strong nowadays.

If you do upgrade, I would suggest two things:

1. Double-down on the number of pellets you purchase. You’ll need them.
2. Double-down on your air supply. You’ll need it. :biggrinn:

The side-cocking really does make this gun exceptional. The only niggle, to me, is that the lever will not stay in the open position unless you manually hold it yourself. I know there is a “magnet fix” floating around this site, but I haven’t been able to get it to work for me. Trust me, it’s well worth the niggle, and the parts are really well built.

Oh and love the side lever may have to get the conversion kit.

:hoot:

Don’t hesitate…do it! You will not regret it. It completely changes the “feel” of the gun’s operation for the better!

That is a hell of a shot string, i got the guru to tune mine and it still don’t look that good. Would love to see some grouping at 50 and 75 yards. I love my Tactic. Oh and mind loves JSB MKII’s the best, kings shoot good, MKI’s don’t feed well in the magazine so i gave them up, but the MKII’s are the boss.

:hoot:

I find that very impressive. It’s a nice looking rifle and apparently a terrific performer. Lucky you!
