Ouch! Regular tar is nasty stuff.

If that was used for T&F the heat could easily make one pass out and potentially get 3rd degree burns, not to mention the chemicals getting into your system from the skin. If the person getting T&F is unconscious how can they be properly humiliated…

Pine tar sucks, I did a lot of framing and getting that stuff on my hands simply sucked. Always had a pint of paint thinner on hand just for those days when it was all over the place.

T&F is interesting but corruption and tyranny should be dealt with the ol fashioned San Francisco way (circa gold rush). 😉

Synopsys, would be right that it would have most likely been pine tar, which was black due to the process used to make it from processing pine trees.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_tar

Not that the movie is any authority on that, but I know that was done from all of my Rev. war hobby reasearch.

I still have some pine-pitch myself which is from the same source, but processed a bit different in that it is essentially just dried pine sap and is yellow, and used for sealing drinking vessels and some similar applications. Pine tar was used for sealing the deck planks and side planks on ships and for treating the rigging to prevent rot to some extent I think.

And I had forgotten untill visiting the link above that it has long been used in the sport of Baseball to give bats some grip. That type is treated probably with turpentine (also derived from pine trees) to make it soft at normal temperatures.

The pine-tar would make more sense than coal-tar, which would have been very very rare and then only found in areas where it originated. Probably not in much general use even there.

Could be the tar-feather-death thing is not accurate, I am sure a few died from shock from it or the rough handling in addition to it.
Would hurt like a mother hummer though.. that is for sure…

I had “real” tar spayed on my right hand once… It would have been very serious but for the sheer luck of being right next to the refueling station at the asphalt plant I was working at. I grabbed the diesel hose within seconds of the incident and doused my hand with a quart or two which cooled it and all I had was a sore, red hand with no hair on it…. (It hurt a bit peeling it all off too!!! )

Would love to see Bloomberg get “tarred & feathered”,,, if only with some harmless black paint and some chicken feathers…

225F for coal tar, 380F for bitumen tar, which are both petroleum based and apparently not what was used in this country. The British may have used it, go figure. This stuff would fuck you up no doubt but it would not have been readily available during that time period.

Pine tar was used here (in the USA) with the hardest of it having a melting point of around 150F. Some pine tar is near liquid at room temperature. At 150 if would hurt but certainly wouldn’t kill…

Wiki says there are no known cases of people dying from being tarred and feathered during the time period (late 1700-1800’s), but it’s Wiki… Looks like 50/50 sources saying it results in death. I’d imagine quite a few victims died from infections related to removal of the mess.

Interesting clip, anyone notice the irony in the shot of the slaves being unloaded from the boats while they attack someone for essentially trying to do something similar to them? Move along folks, nothing to see here…

Bloomberg and these other bastards better remember what the civilian population used to do to the likes of him… “back in the day” for pulling stunts like he has or intends to do.

from the HBO miniseries John Adams.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFWZ925zK0A

By the way… getting “Tarred and Feathered often resulted in the death of the recipient of the treatment.. ever stick your hand in just molten wax? Now imagine having hot molten tar poured over your body… the feathers are nothing…

Thanks for the support guys . I know anderson cooper has to much on his plate with that chick on trial and all, so just letting my fellow gun owners know were fighting them on every level.

I believe march 29, the govoner has to show why banning assault rifles under emergency measures was constitutional. Hes going to have a hard time convinceing a judge that 7 murders in NY last were committed with rifles of all types is justifiable to deny millions of New Yorkers of thier rights.Thats according to FBI stats. 😆

Then he has problems with falsely useing his emergency measure to push it through and he even said later he could not have got it through without useing it. Hes going to have to show the judge why it was needed when no such emergency exsisted.

there are other elements of the constitution he broke also which the judge is fully aware of .

Lets hope Obamma takes a good hard look at this fucking mess King Coumo created. If they think NY is tough. Wait to they get to the red states . Hell even Pennslvania and West Virginia are going to be mother fuckers , thier gun laws are close to Texas.

I think Coumo is going to let it die on the 29th to help save his chances for a presidential run and hope people forget about it. which is laughable because there is no way we are going to forget this . Besides his own police dont support it . and if push came to shove , He’d have a civl war on his hands. Our Hillbilly friends from Penn. and Vermont have already said they’re comming if we call.

Im hopeing he throws the towel in on the 29th and just say he tried .

Good for NY
sounds as if the hornets nest has been stirred
we all need to boycott this shit
watch it closely as possible TAG Men
We as a people, need to stand up to all this
debauchary, time for all our so called leaders to
start doing their fuckin jobs
the biggest problem is our Government, and of course
the free loading public that thinks the Gov owes them
Quit rewarding lazyness, reward the ones who
actually work for a living, pay taxes, and try to survive
all this bullshit our so called Govt is trying to do

Pissed SAW

Tuesday, 05 March 2013 12:04 New York Courts May Kill Cuomo Assault on Gun Rights

http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/14685-new-york-courts-may-kill-cuomo-assault-on-gun-rights

If NY is the testing ground for the rest of the country then they better come up with a new plan because they are failing on a massive level.

I shit you not , if they try to take take them , make no fucking mistake about about. there is going to be problems.

Another option would be to boycott Bloomberg.
What businesses does he own?
What businesses do his cronies own?

Boycott the whole lot of them..
Start up competition…

Fuck’em… fuck’em good.

Where it counts… in the pocket book.

Revwarnut

The papers are qouteing the NYS troopers which say there were over 5000

which is true, but its also true there were over 100. Albany police counted 189 bus’es which can hold 100 people . So cut that in half and we have around 9000 people just on buses.

52 out of 58 sherriff dept refuse to enforce the safe act.

more than half the counties voted to repeal the safe act. heres a map:

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b546/thewapbucket/Map9_zpseab78d86.jpg

NYS troopers are lobbing thier union against the safe act. Thier kinda caught between a rock and a hard place, but most of them are on our side.

Multiple lawsuits and class action suits have been filed .

All these things are giveing us legitimacy and that its not just a few bubbas in the woods .

Its not about guns, its about our rights and thier ability to strip them on a whim. Even non gun owners are with us. gun owners have taken a pledge of civil disobedience . WE THE PEOPLE OWN THIS FUCKIN PLACE! were not going tolay down to some rich elite douchbag . Were going to have something to say about this.

Tresmond is takeing his fight national ,
“Since outpouring of pleas for me and my legal team to take on further legal action against any further State and Legal Action, I am in the process of founding the National Center for Firearms Litigation here in Western New York. We have a team of legal experts from around the country to challenge whatever comes our way from Congress.
I am pleased to announce that we will be expanding our efforts to fight gun control legislation on a nationwide basis.”

http://tresmondlaw.com/Welcome.html

There is now a boycott on fishing and hunting lisences in NY. Were hitting those fuckers from every angle.

They really kicked a fucking hornets nest in NY.

I know the news doesnt give it much coverage , so Im passing along info to anyone who cares to read it. Im hopeing this will encouarge others to step up in thier state when the time comes and not roll over.

I don’t know HO, only looks to be twenty or thirty people there… 😉

On a freezeing cold NY day 189 buses from all over NY state converged on the capital
