Newbie with Used Talon SS – Questions
Howdy,
I just picked up a used Talon SS. It will be arriving in the mail today(hopefully). I got the accessories already, which included an extra tank. The tank has a high flow valve, but does mot hold air. The top hat does not stay up and lets the air empty. I pulled the top hat and noticed oil on the sides. I assume both issues are not good. Should I tear the valve down and replace o-rings and springs. Can I get these at the local hardware store or are they specialized?
Given the issue with the tank – what should I go over and replace on the Talon?
The other issue is that the Talon was supposedly converted to a Condor – the power wheel was removed and blinded off with a new spring. I thought I would remove this stuff to return to a stock SS. What else should I do to make it shootable and safe?

tell AF you want that bitch updated to their new one, they should do it…
each one dose have it’s own serial number, they are on the flat part were all the trigger guts are…. and yes even the ss is loud without something added… 😉
I pulled apart my CO2 adapter and got a look at what the real spring and O-rings should be. I think I should be able to locate these at Lowes no problem. The TT tune and repair on the valve would be $75 – a bit more than I want to spend at the moment.
I got the rifle today – the tank was still charged from the previous owner – so got to pull off a few tonight. It seems a bit loud. I think I will return it to stock condition, then tweak from there. Any idea if each rifle has a serial number or just a model number?

Ok, pulled the valve apart last night on the spare tank. The plastic valve seal was stuck midway in the spring. Looks like the spring is too big and weak to work. Plus I think the seal was backwards, as well. Does the top hat stem fit into the cup of the plastic seat? Where do I get the spring and a new plastic cup?. The valve is the old style high flow.

Spring retainer probably backed off get some teflon tape and use a bunch on the spring retainer threads.

Is there a listing of the standard sizes for all of the o-rings for the SS? Maybe it would be good to just get the $20 paintball o-ring kit on ebay – any ecperience?
Make sure the tank is emty!
Take the valve apart.
Check for missing retainter spring.
Yes replace the O Rings 90 durometer work best.

if you have a receipt from an authorized dealer (from the previous owner) for your talon ss, airforce will repair your tank free of charge.
