Sure you feel like it is a contract but it’s not like he has ripped you off by not delivering the product. Plus it’s only a $100 deposit. You paid LESS than 10% of the purchase price. Which happens to be 0.08% (not 8%, eight hundredths of a percent) of your income (yeah I did the math… :lol:), relax man, it’s all good… 😀

You got a “it’s on it’s way to the USA email” and a request for a deposit. He is at the mercy of customs and the shipping company. That is always tenuous. I paid the same deposit, make a little less then you yearly and got nothing, he didn’t even tell me they were on the way or he got the deposit (I asked him to confirm), I figure with Tony if there was an issue he would say it… That is why I started this thread, I didn’t want to bug Tony.
If you paid in full, yeah you have a contract for the full deal (and your beef would be justified). In theory he could give you back your deposit and deny you your rifle. I’m not so sure you would have a case against him unless he signed something that said with a deposit he was bound to deliver the final product. A refund of deposit would be all he is obligated to do if he didn’t want to or couldn’t sell you an EdGun. Not like that would happen.
Shit I got a custom pistol, paid in full, had issues and sent it back. No email saying he received it last week, no email saying he is looking at it. And it’s been paid for in full already!!! 😯
I paid a $1500 deposit (more than 50%) and got no proactive communication from another custom rifle maker.
I feel your pain, I want my EdGun Matador too and it’s so close I can taste it!!!!!!!! 😀

Weather I make 1,000,000 a day or whatever it’s still my money I worked for, and once money is exchanged I feel like that’s a contract of I pay you deliver… If I wasn’t a part of the great community here on tag….would I be in the loop of Ed letting us know the guns were shipped?….all I would know is what tony had emailed me…
After all I’m just picky like that..I’m always checking my tracking number for packages through USPS or ups…cause I’m a very anxious person. But regardless I’m just glad I am here to get the frequent stop ins by Ed informing us of whatever process he did….I’ve heard that tony is a very short worded person but I think being in “sales” he needs to open the lines of communication a little more….but that’s “MY” opinion.

Am I missing something? Am I reading your post wrong? Looks like you got more of a notification email then me (not like I care, they get here when they do). You paid $100 right? With the money you make that is a lot? I bet you spend more than that in a night at a NYC bar… 😯 🙄
Ed posted here IN THIS THREAD that the rifles were leaving Europe last week. In my book that IS notifying everyone. Why follow it up with more work emailing everyone?
The communication from Ed and Tony is better than another custom rifle maker I worked with or a custom pistol maker I had make me a pistol recently. Regardless of comparisons this is how the EdGuns are done, if you don’t like it get a Cricket or a Evanix, lots of folks fuck other folks on PayPal after the fact, same with a few other payment systems. It is the way it is (insert feminine product reference here :lol:).
I would guess the deposit is so Tony can get all the shipping stuff together without it coming directly out of his pocket and so people wouldn’t back out without losing something, there were a few folks who decided once the rifle was here that they didn’t want it.. I doubt shipping EdGuns is how he makes a living. 😕
Shit i’d even pay half or more just so I can get the money out of my account and reduce the risk of spending it on another airgun. 😀
It doesn’t matter if it is a 30 cal or 9 mm. I will take either or both!
Just when I thought that I was set for Matadors, at least until you came out with the R4s, you come out with a “Limited Edition” 30 cal matador!
So: now I am back to waiting for a Matador! First, I am waiting to see if I got in on the “Limited Edition” list and if I did, I am waiting for it to come in!
I would bet that if I could count up all of the months, in the last 4 years, there couldn’t be more than 8-9 months total that I haven’t spent waiting for a Matador!
Oh Well: it does get kind of boring not having a new Matador to wait for! 😆
I’m also on Tony’s list for a 30 cal or a 9mm. I’m hoping to be on the short list to receive one this summer. Already having a R2.5 22 cal standard and a R3 25 long, a 30 cal or a 9 mm would be right at home beside them. Are there any specs on the R4 that can be shared at this time? Just basic info, length, weight, air cylinder size, number of shots or multishot.

when did a deposit start as a requirement for getting on the list? On 3/28/12, I asked Tony what I needed to be on the list for a 25 long and a 22 veles and Tony replied, “just full name and e-mail address. Next week will be a full year of waiting, Im hoping mine will be in this shipment.

Personally I don’t care but don’t take my money and not notify me….it’s very simple to forward the same email to everybody that’s put money down… It’s not like I’ve been counting down the days till I get the gun…..I forgot about being on the list till I got an email notifying me the guns will be here as early as march 10th….. Be patient you’ll get the email, On the last shipment, it took 2 weeks for me to receive an email after the first person received theirs your time will come

I didn’t get any such request for a deposit. I’m hoping I am still on the list. When I ordered my AAA from Tony I chose to pay in full up front. When he cashed the money order, that was a binding contract and he delivered everything I could have expected. If for some reason I’m no longer on the list, I will be bumbed but I’ll get over it.
