Alright, this is what I want.
6000 psi nitrogen tank, from welding shop.
If I purchase the regulator that W.O.K. posted a link to.
Will I be able to fill a 3000 psi scuba with that set-up for on the go adventures ?
If so, what is needed to do it, my scuba is rigged with a foster quick connect.
Your great knowledge is very greatly appreciated.
Kinda a unchartered territory for me.

That should work with a regualtor to keep you safe. As long as your hose and coupling are rated for the 3k you should be good to go.

If its the regulator I think it is, it will have the female quick connect on the output side.
If you have a female quick connect on your Scuba, you will need a male-to-male QC adapter to connect your Scuba hose to the Nitro regulator.
Heres where it gets tricky.
1) BE ABSOLUTELY SURE you have set the regulator to output ONLY 3000psi. Read the instructions and be sure to set it up right.
2) Connect hoses and open valve on your SCUBA tank. This will keep your hose from exploding if you did not follow step 1. As WOK has already said, be certain the hose will contain 3000 PSI.
3) Slowly open Nitro tank just barely enough to pressurize the regulator.
4) Open the regulator very slowly, be ready to shut it off in case you messed up step 1.
What should happen if you set everything up right is the pressure on the output side of the Nitro regulator will start to build as your Scuba starts to fill up. The output side gauge will quickly come up to whatever pressure is in your scuba tank, OR the pressure you set the output side of your regulator to if the Scuba is already full. It will then start to climb to your output setting. Follow?
If all is set correctly, the Nitro regulator will not allow more than 3000psi into your scuba and gas flow will stop.
5) Once the pressure is stabilized, close the valve on the Scuba.
6) Close the regulator valve, it will bleed off the pressure between the regulator and your scuba bottle. If you didnt close the Scuba bottle first, you will be bleeding it off too.
7) Close Nitrogen valve in case of micro-leaks between your Nitro bottle and the regulator. 6000psi can quickly become a lot less if there is a small leak. I lost 500psi in one afternoon and I couldnt even hear the leak.
8) Now disconnect scuba from regulator.

Do not mess up step 1. Also, do not forget step 1. Step 1 is important too.
