NO CZ BARRELS ON .25 MUTANTS…???
:hoot:
Forum swine…
Yet once again, I toss valuable pearls of wisdom and knowledge before the ignorant, the uninformed, and the cloven-hoofed!
The .25 Mutant will most likely have an LW barrel in caliber .25, this I know because I just spoke to someone who knows…
It seems some other gun makers have proprietary rights to .25 caliber barrels from CZ. So, it seems Mutants are going to have to go with another barrel. Frankly, I’ve never had a bad barrel from LW. Edgun uses them to great effect, and damn few Edgun owners complain about accuracy.
Perhaps we need to talk about this. Comments anyone?

Yes! Fattest airtube I’ve seen for sure
Yea maybe the same o.d. size air tube like the humming bird. :biggrinn:
:hoot:
I think Ed should simply come out with a side lever cocking, Matador Short…perhaps one with an over-sized air cylinder to increase shot count and permit a valve that delivers greater fps/fpe, for us .25 caliber freaks that like little powerful guns…
That improvement would deliver the features that would make me take a second look.

PS: Ditto on your comment..”I‘ve never had a Edgun yet. But only if the stock gets a make over.
With the longer action, in that little stock, that does not look easy too shoot, or use.”
That design only worked on a tiny pcp…this one’s definitely not tiny! Definitely needs a fore grip!
+1 what Jamie said.
Plus I’ll add this with the forward side cocking action. When they first came out.
I had too have one, well I’ve had two the Humming bird & the Vulcan.
They are nice yes, but unless your shooting over, a prairie dog town.
With lots of targets, you really don’t need it. I don’t miss it at all, sold them both off.
I’d take a short quite bullpup over, a longer forward side cocking action bullpup any day of the week.( The Taipan )
Now I’ve been eye balling the new edgun lelya 2.0

I’m with Elmer on the size of the lelya 2.0 People liked the lelya because it was small.
But it’s not small any more at 26 inches.
I hope the son’s a bitches that sell the Mutant Shortys don’t jack up the price just because you and me want one!!!
It’s happened in the past.

Deal breaker for me
That’s terrible
its shorter than a vulcan (680mm) https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/vulcan-bullpup.html#all_specifications
ed is actually a midget – the lelya is 650mm – and he looks about twice the size so I make ed to be 1300mm or so = 4’3″ for you imperial lot across the pond
it would also be worth considering the new edgun lelya 2.0 in 0.25 – it has an enormous box like moderator which = super silent, is midcocking and looks compact.
What’s your definition of compact? The specs below says it’s a tad shorter than 26″ however the pics makes it look deceiving large. One fault is it’s missing a foregrip and the reservoir looks on the skinny side.

Lelya:
Weight with the scope – 2.98 kg (6.56 pounds)
Length– 654 mm (25.74 inches)
Width– 52 mm (2.04 inches)
Height– 204.5 mm (8.05 inches)
The volume of the reservoir – 136 cm3
Regulator – yes
Gauge – yes
Filling probe – Edgun, 8 mm.
Multy shot – yes
Safty – yes (double side, blocks the hammer)
Length of the barrel – 414 mm (16.29 inches)
Caliber – 4.5, 5.5, 6.35 (.177, .22, .25)
Number of shots per fill, no less – 50 30, 20
Working pressure – 300 – 120 bar
Regulated trigger – yes
Switch off the magazine movement – yes
Cocking – front, double side
Stock – walnut, laminate
Color – black anodizing, black cerocote
Scope base – weaver
Moderator – built in offset, bigger volume with the same size
Ditto!
The Vulcan is a serious contender. I am struggling between waiting for the .25 Mutant, or just picking up a tried and proven .25 Vulcan.
The two guns are both top rate, in my opinion. The Vulcan scores big points for the middle cocking lever, and generally overall good looks. That gun just feels right when you put it to your shoulder. Price is what’s holding me back right now.
We’ll see what we see, I guess…

I once thought the same way.
Until I bought the .25 Vulcan. … I think I fired around a half tin of pellets through it.
Sure it looks cool and it’s a .25. But that is where it ends.
The ping is obnoxious. It is pretty dam loud.
The grip is great if you have smaller hands… my hands don’t real fit it well
The cooking is not smooth. I thought i was going to snap off the side handle the first round I chambered. I ended up pulling the barrel and smoothing it out in the lathe.
The gun is not very easy to work on. For instance the fasteners for the airtube/barrel clamps are a PIA.
I wasn’t a fan of the trigger either , even though so many people argued with me that it was the best trigger of any bullpups.
Anyhow i sold it. And don’t miss it one bit.
I can hold out for the .25 mutant…..
gentleman and ladies

I heard the Vulcan is really loud. The Mutant has a reputation for quietness. I love quiet guns…

I am with you Hoot the price has to be right,
Keep the price right and sell a bunch of the 25 Mutants, Or jack it up and sell a few.
If the price is jacked up , I will bite the bullet (pellet) and buy a Vulcan 25 with a CZ barrel.
Nothing against LW barrels, My Earnest tuned 25 Cricket is my go to gun if its got to be dead.
