I was asked about sending a shroud to Canada. Does anyone know if this is legal from CA? I have never mailed anything to Canada before.

Yup the laws up North here are a little whacked! Can’t order a Talon SS but I can have a HW or 410 with shrouds???

Can’t have an AK-47 but I can have my AR??

Randy

My .223 old school marshmellow roaster c/w 11.5 inch barrel. 8)

So how come we can have these no problems and you guys have to have a Class3 license?

How come we can have these 200.00 milled steel Chinese copies of an Ithaca M37 and you guys can’t?

Both our gun laws are whacked!! Canadian gun laws are consistant and Federally mandated where as in the US the laws are all over the place ie: CA and NYC then Texas??

I may be wrong, but I think the 12″ barrel of the SS is what makes it illegal in Canada.

Length of barrel will probably be one of the first things discussed by US lawmakers. Its already the case in a few states.

I plan on it. I do not need to take any chances.

Rod, stick with the good ol’ U.S.A.

air guns run rapid down there for sure, besides the border towns that is all that’s down there, don’t know about the shrouds though, 💡 perhaps you should do a bit of research on the subject and let us know what is what with them ❓

Considering firearms are a huge no-no in Mexico i’d bet my life savings that shrouds were a no-no as well… 😕

Just think of Mexico as New Jersey with airguns… 😆

So what kind of airguns are legal in Canada that already have a built in shroud, such as the whisper?

quote :

Everything is legal in Mexico.

Thats what I was thinking 😀

Everything is legal in Mexico. 😆
just kidding I would just mail to US.

I have been asked to ship to mexico? Is this legal, or should I do USA only?

Thanks,
Rodney

I originally was going to by a SS. I phoned CCRA (Canadianese for customs) and I was told I could not import one because there was a shroud built into the gun. Therefor I ended up buying its bigger brother, the Condor. No problem, but at that time I had to get a Purchase and Acquisition Liscense (PAL) as the velocity was over 500′ per second.

there isnt anything that really cant be removed.

yes, crazy canadian laws… AK47 semi auto illegal, ar-15 semi auto legal

the ss is probly illegal cause of some politician somewhere 😛

probly right though because it is removable
and it is called a shroud

a shroud welded to a barrel would be a suppressor I would think.

Same wording Gamo uses on their whispers

It’s canada where laws are meant not open for interpertation

quote Yellow Ninja:

But it can be removed from the barrel (I’m just being argumentative).

Well technically you can’t, but you can remove the barrel from the frame (me too 😛 )

quote get the blue jay:

if that were true then why is the SS illegal up there?
the shroud on the SS is the frame and certainly can not be used on a powder burner.

But it can be removed from the barrel (I’m just being argumentative).
