Q:

Noob ? How do I find out how much PSI left in tank.

Did a search but really could’nt find any info on this. I have a Hill Hand pump, no scuba gear. Obviously no gauge on the tank, when I go to refill it it takes 15-40 pump to get it to 3000psi (pump gauge). Is there something I can screw on to the tank to determine the amount of air used or left? I am hoping to get a scuba tank soon.

Thanks buzz!
Kinda had a feeling about that 🙂 . I had to fill it from 0 psi the first time and I honestly thought the pump was broke since the needle would move very slightly the drop back down. Once I got it to 500 psi, then it made me feel better.
Thanks again!

Ya gotta screw the tank on the pump, and then start stroking. You’ll notice at first that pumping is easy and the needle on the gauge jumps up pretty fast for the first dozen or so strokes. When real resistance is felt on the downstroke and the needle stops jumping and just creeps, that’s the PSI that’s left in the tank.
