Q:

NOW, she’s really Done….with groups pictures

This has been my intention since I got this Pup.

getting Iron Sights on my .357 StormPup

The problem I had when I 1st put the AR15 sights on is that the gun shot High.

with a 0.5″ riser on the back sight it shot low.
with 0.5″ on the front and 0.83″ in the back it still shot low.

Finally I got 0.83″ in the front and 1.0″ and she’s spot on πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I can easily get touching hole groups at 20 yards, so now this baby is ready for duty on those thick bush, sneaking around hunts where possible sudden and close encounters are on tap πŸ™‚

In the end I wasn’t happy with the peep sights.

So I fabricated a rear sight with TRU GLOW, bygetting the rear sight higher i was able to get rid of the risers which makes the sights significantly closer to the Bore.

I than just shot 10 rounds, the 1st 4 with the roundball to get an Idea of the zero, than two 3 shots groups, not done with zeroing her but it gives you an Idea, …and the hollowpoints are the least accurate out of this gun

Yeah, those Hogs run around in the woods like they owned the place. In some areas they almost do…
They are a menace though – people hit them by Car and so. Ever seen how a Car looks after a collision with a 500 lbs Razorback ?? Not a pretty sight …
We get lots of very rich Europeans here every fall to hunt Wild Boar. They pay ridiculous sums of money for one day hunt. TheyΒ΄re guaranteed to find game though BUT are not allowed to keep the meat without paying for it separately. Idiots …

Sausage, you say ?? Sounds tasty !

I was commuting to Grad school many years ago and passed through the area where those bastards first got loose. Twice I missed a fatality accident by minutes. Hitting a hog at speed is on par with hitting a (short) brick wall. One heavy 4WD truck had the entire running gear ripped out by the impact. Two of three passengers were killed instantly. I still drive that stretch at 45 after dark. Terrifying.

We get the wealthy hunters year round. It’s become something of an industry here abouts. Doesn’t make up for crop and stock losses though.

Tasty sausage? Hell yeah! Well worth doing.

John

THAT would be awesome! Just one caveat : AG hunting is prohibited here, except for small pests. We could always play the “stupid Tourist” card though: “IΒ΄m sorry officer but i didnΒ΄t know. In US – where everythingΒ΄s sooo much bigger – our Racoons grow to that size, easily . I thought it was one of those. IΒ΄m so sorry and it wonΒ΄t happen again” … “And you see my guide – heΒ΄s wheelchairbound and i thought that Coon was about to attack that poor bastard”.
OR you could just call it a fake ! πŸ˜€

LOL, I should post some fake pictures πŸ™‚

BTW if your friends like to pay for my ticket over there I’d love to come over and hunt Old World Boars with my pee shooters πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well – i buy my Pork from him directly, freshly smoked, so it sure isn’t from San Antonio, TX.
To my knowledge none of his few Swines have never escaped and if they did i couldn’t care any less … He has only two – one formerly wild and one domestic and when they get Piglets and those reach the certain size/age they get to go to a ” nice Piggie- summercamp” = a “button” between the eyes.

Lucky you! My brother and I got heavily into converting them to sausage for several years. As you said, tasty stuff. Those wild strain hogs are native in your area rather than the voracious invasive species they are here, aren’t they? Here, it’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but in Europe, it’s just old-school.

Is it just me or does this Tapatalk/ iPhone-combo really suck dead Di..s ???

Those are not running around wild but are kept in their corral. The sole purpose is for meat production and they sure taste good. Much better than your regular Pork meat – especially when smoked.

Yeah, they were penned here, until they weren’t. We have a local saying “You can’t build a pen a hog can’t think it’s way out of.” Not true, but might as well be.

As for taste, a lot of that pork comes from here. There’s three buyers within a half-hour drive from my front door. The hogs are shipped to San Antonio for processing, then to European markets.

UPDATE !!!!!!!

I was just ouside shooting the gun when I realised the the front sight is adjustable, so I took the riser mounts off and tested with the front sight adjusted to minimum, it’s shooting a bit low but I can take it off and cut a fair bit off, that way I really think I’ll be able to use this Iron Sights right of the rail and that will be much better since they are much closer to the bore.

Going surfing now but I’ll get on with the chopping tomorrow and see if I’m right πŸ™‚

πŸ˜† Faked photos….. How awesome it that!

NP, once again you make a well set up rifle even better! Nice mod for CQB in the hoglands of HI!

Can’t wait to see some photos of the field R&D. πŸ˜‰

Extra lean bacon is the way to go. Drives me nuts that over 50% of the bacon they sell is fat in this country.

WhereΒ΄s the damned Bacon, Manny ?? The bacon, the bacon – we need pics of the BACON !!
BTW – i have this dumb friend (no, not Dr. Evil) who claims thereΒ΄s no way you can kill a wild hog with an air-rifle. When i showed him some of your pics he said those pics were bogus and those hogs were shot with a powder burner and placed there. You could take a winter vacation to Southern Sweden and bring your gun and shoot one of his hogs as a proof. He breeds a special kind of Pigs – a crossbreed between a domestic Pig and a Razorback.

ItΒ΄s soon time for X-mas slaughter so pack your guns and fly over so we can shut him up for good.

LOL, Bogus Photos πŸ™‚ …..isn’t it great when you shock the establisment ? ….”no way you can kill a Wild Boar with a pellet gun, i wouldn’t take anything less than a 30/30 ”

I’ve shocked several die Hard Powder burners around here, and many of them have gotten or are getting a Korean airgun, πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ love it !

as for Bacon, hunting is on the Backburner right now, Winter surf season has kicked in big time, waves have been exceptional and I’m surfing alot, lots of babes on the beach πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Hunting will eventually resume further into winter.

When I was bear hunting in Canada a few years ago our guide said kill every wolf you can find and my brother the game warden will get you permits for the kills. They tell that to everybody despite the official position of the CA govamint.

Yeah, well, I got no problem with that, as long as they sleep in the woods where these noble beasts were released. Having run up on a wolf, I’d be willing suffer the loss of biodiversity. It’s amazing how awesome wolves are on TV relative to how terrifying they are in the woods in the dark. And how quickly they can rip the profit out of a calf crop.
