Q:

Now this is what I call a shroud

I was just looking through my Hard Drive and found the below. It’s probably not very practical, but it certainly has a very cool look to it. Anyone know whose rifle it is, or anything about it at all? Would the vent holes at the muzzle make a practical difference?

Dunno if the video is still there, if so it should give you an idea of how well it works.

hey riff, could you throw up a pic or two?

Ya thats too big LOL.

Once you get to a certain volume, your wasting space.

My shroud is ridiculously quiet, yet small compared to most here. Maybe its just the air where I live, (2500 feet above sea-level).

I use 1.25″ ID x 12″ long for my 24″ barrels. I made one 1.5″ x 18″ once just to satisfy my curiosity. I actually couldn’t tell the difference noise-wise, but it was like adding a bat to the end of my rifle.

Just go out and buy one, I’m sure any good builders-merchants will have them. πŸ˜†

Ha, that’s ridiculous! I bet it probably just barely weighs enough to not tip over forward.

LOL, it looks like a .50 BMG now.
