Q:

O-ringed Barrel Bushings

Not trying to re-invent the wheel but thought this would be a little different. Does it make a dif – I don’t think so but here they are.

those are pretty sick are you selling them at all?

Not really, just wanted to post an idea and the results.

The only way that I could do the work and know that it would be a good job is for you to send your bushings. The ones pictured are from scratch but stock ones can be modified. Then it would be No shooting for you for a few days. You could also check out Talontunes.com and do just the front vented bushing . You can do the frame venting yourself if you have not.

tried it a while back (just a single oring per bushing though)…………couldn’t tell a measurable difference one way or the other in accuracy or sound. Please share your results of the “double” setup.

Finally installed and tested the bushings and made a big mistake.

OD of bushings I made were .015 under the stock bushings. thought that the orings would make up for difference – Not

When the set screws were snugged and testing began I soon found out that barrel was canted in frame just enough that I ran out of scope adjustment.

So, made a second set the right way and all is well.

Conclusion is that they do look cool but ID must match the stock bushings and then you can hold barrel in place very securely with set screw that do not and should not touch the barrel.

With my small Sherline lath it is a work in progress. I know I have the bushings but, no one else can see them, the time I did spend on the thing would have been better spent with more reading and more time setting gun up to take good advantage of air usage and improving accuracy.

So, this is not what I would consider a must have but, cool looking.

The vented front bushing along with vented frame, I do think, are a must for stealth.

Looks cool. NIce work.

THX1138 used to make O-ring bushing along with baffles.

I’d always assumed that they would reduce accuracy with the barrel having only o-rings connecting it to the rifle scope but he sold quite a few sets and I never heard any complaints about accuracy if I remember correctly.

That’s some nice stuff right there….

Airhog does the same thing with their barrel bushings.

Very Slick ❗

That’d keep the lead dust blow-back out of the mechanism for sure! 8)

Looks great!
