o rings
my question is two fold. first, i cant find any direct reference to breech and valve o ring dimensions, could use confimation before i go diggin mine out. second, what are the TAGs collective thoughts of viton as a chemically resistant alternative to nitrile or other materials, whatever standard o rings are composed of? i got a HUGE variety of viton o rings, (which curiously smells of cinnamon 😕 ) leftover from a previous project on one of my springers. it would be nice to know that they arent totally useless

Been awhile, but as I recall the Viton ones are the way to go
You have to check the Quick ref for all the size specs cause I really could not tell ya

The Viton will be superior to Buna-N or nitrile in just about every way. The only exception to this will be their ability to remain pliable in very cold temps. They also don’t like extreamly high temps either.
Use the search =) I believe the quick ref section has the info you are looking for. I’ve been using urethane 90 duro orings for the breech.

in need of some breach seals myself now, so the reference section here says
“9. Breech Slide O-ring: 7/16 x 5/16 x 1/16, size is a 011. .3125 ID with a 1/16″ wall and .4375″ OD.
10. 90 Duro-meter hardest rating, highest pressure, urethane works ( best for value stem )
70 Duro-meter standard rating, high pressure”
