Good deal!
So Ocelot vs Veles or lelya? Quite a price differential. 😯
After Matt D done playing, his sending it to me to tune and see what its max limit and shot count, cant wait!
Gotta agree with you there. Kalibrgun has outdone Edgun with this pistol. Now someone needs to up their product to include a multishot.
We need Ernest to get a hold of one and work it over. :2cents:
Today I had some alone time with the Ocelot.
I played around with the HST cranking it in but I did not get any higher velocity than 590 fps (JSB 15.9). I tried backing out the HST and I had to back it out a lot before the velocity dropped at all. The HST adjustment is very fine. I was able to get the maximum velocity with only about 3 turns of the HST engagement. I tried putting the grips back on but they wouldn’t fit with the HST adjuster backed out so much.
I decided to try the shorter spring that was originally in the pistol. I could only get about 540 fps with the shorter spring and then the hammer would not cock.
I had some other springs that I had gotten from Ernest for my .177 baby Cricket that were right in between the lengths of the 2 stock springs. This spring turned out to be about perfect. I am getting max velocity (590 fps) with the HST adjuster flush with the housing. The pistol is now quieter. It was obviously wasting air with the longer spring. It is still not super quiet but much better.
If you want more than 12 fpe you will need to increase the reg pressure.
Also attached is a pic of the 3 trigger adjustment screws. They are all 2.0 mm Allen screws. Near as I can figure the screw functions are as follows from muzzle aft:
Fwd screw: 1st stage / trigger weight
middle Screw: trigger travel. (You can dial out the 1st stage if desired)
Aft screw: Sear engagement
I have a nice crisp 2 stage trigger that measures a total of 1 3/4 lbs.
The accuracy is excellent with many 1 hole groups at 25 yes. I am still using a red dot but need to try a scope with more magnification see just how good it really is.

It appears that the Ocelot may make the Veles take a step down. There is a new guy in town. 😯
Maybe we can get Donny on the LDC. 😛 We need more of them out there to make it worth his while. Now to convince the wife on the purchase. 🙄 There are so many good guns out there now. I really like the Hawk Panorama scope on my P-Rod and will probably do the same for the Ocelot with the glass etched 1/2 MD reticle.
Coda
The baffles attach to the barrel. I’m sure a LDC adapter could be fabricated. The shroud/moderator takes the edge off but I would not call it super quiet. There Are only 2 baffle and a little volume around the barrel for the shroud. Probably about as loud as a stock Prod. Accuracy seems very good. Quality is top notch
I suspect my gun came to me exactly as it left Kalibrgun. The hammer spring that was in it barely made the hammer fall. I replaced it with the included longer spring and just screwed the hst adjuster flush with the housing. Over the next few days I will play with the power. You have to take the grip off to adjust the power.

Thanks. That’s real impressive as I have heard out of the box except for the trigger needing to be adjusted. How is the noise? Is there any obvious way to attach a moderator? I want to try to adjust it up about 100 fps but I am sure the noise will rise as it does on the P-Rod. I nailed over 60 squirrels with the P-Rod at 12 fpe out to 50+ yards but this gun is more accurate I am told. 15 fpe would be peachy if I could get close to 35 shots.
Here is some more info and pics
Put a 3 MOA red dot on the Ocelot and sighted it in at 25 yards. Was shocked at the first group which was one hole. Trigger is now set to 2 stages and 2-1/2 pounds.
I did a string from 240 bar to 70 bar. 42 shots are listed below with JSB 15.9’s. This thing has a crazy consistent regulator and this is with only 100 shots through it! The group that is a big ragged hole is a 42 shot group for the string below. There is a pic next to my baby mutant for size comparison. This pistol handles and feels like a Thompson Center Contender that I use to own.

$929.95 ???
Well that’s a lot of fun for a reasonable price (IMHO) :8:
Looks like a quality product too :thumb:
Enjoy your new toy 😀
If you didn’t read Peters test of the Ocelot… The reg is set at 80 but can be adjusted. I wonder if 35 shots is possible at 15fpe on a 300 bar fill with JSB Express. I am sure it would get a wee bit louder.
Hunting/target pistol
This is an outstanding piece. The reg. is set at 80 bar which gives the Ocelot 11-12 fpe and a shot count of about 30 from 200 bar and 40+ from 300 bar
The Ocelot is 14.38″ long with a 8.80″ barrel and weights just over 3lbs.
The barrel is also shrouded with a sound chamber to help keep things quiet.
The pistol grip looks great —unless your left handed.
$929.95
The first impression of the Ocelot is—WOW good looking gun. It has a authoritative appearance. The barrel is shrouded and nicely textured to give is a semi-auto-slide look. The finish looks good quality and is tough —attaching a scope I fumbled mine on the work bench without a scratch.
The grip feels very comfortable; great palm swell and finger rest. I have smaller hands and found the front of the grip a little to square but still ok.
To load the Ocelot you push an easily accessible latch on the left side forward and then rotate the breach block to the left exposing the breach. You load directly into the barrel. But you have to be careful to push the skirt of the pellet all the way in otherwise closing the breach bolt can damage the skirt. The latch is spring loaded and locks into place after you rotate the breach block back to the right. Cocks like a revolver.
The Ocelot does have a sound moderator built into the shroud. It does a pretty good job. I took the end plug off of mine to hear the difference: BIG difference !!
The Ocelot comets with a built in weaver scope rail that is generously long to mount pretty much anything. It also has open sights. The front having a red optic fiber –pretty nice and easy to see.
The velocity on mine is 578 fps and varied 3 fps over a 12 shot string. I first shot at 11 yds using JSB 15.89 and was a bit surprised. 20 rounds and the hole was not much bigger than a pellet. I then mounted a stronger mag. scope than the 12x UTG. OK–I admit 40x is a bit much but it happened to be sitting there with the right mounts. I took it to 27 yds with the 16gr JSB and was a bit disappointed; 20 shots, 5/8″ groups. So I tried a different pellet; JSB Express—10 shots 3/8–nice !!!. The shot count from 300 bar is a little over 40. 300-80 bar=45 shots.
Overall I really like the Ocelot. It has the power of some rifles, and shot count too. This will make a great backpack gun or fun around the campground, shooting some serious small targets –not just soda cans.
I put the 3-12x back on.
:0)
It is nice pistol. Enjoy it and we are waiting for some review.

Please give it a full review when you get time.

I got a 35 dollar P 17 that shoots 450 psi I can shoot a coke can at 35 yards 10 out of ten shoots,
well I lied, I HAVE THREE P 17 177 cal pistols, Not sure what to do if one breaks, toss it and keep shooting the other two?
I have a tempest 177 that I have had since the 80s, I only shoot it in the dark when I got to get the pellet in the barrel fast, Rattle snake hunting.
I must be a cheap ass,
