Q:

Offset scope wheel

Finally got back from Montana and my 5″ offset scope wheel for my Hawke scope was here waiting for me from Eric Sanders.
We had some back and forth emails to nail down design and measurements and it came out great. Nice and tight to scope and gun. Thanks to our dearly departed Dr Steele for getting us set up with him.
Sad part is I’ll probably be moving to Montana soon and it appears FT is non existent up there so I’ll use it for pesting on property.

Well , mine and Dr. Evil´s scope wheels arrived today. Really nice work . Light wheels in 90mm diam. and they fit perfectly the scope they were destined to. For the moment the Delta is mounted on my Sako but eventhough the pic quality is almost as good as the rest of my pics the wheel can be seen in the shade. Kind of. Maybe.

It feels a bit weird since this whole project was a co-operation between me, our early departed friend Shanu and Eric from Compufoil (since there are no overflow of Delta´s in US) and i can´t thank Shanu for the help with this but i quess that´s life.

I´ll put the scope onto it´s real host, the Bug , and take some better (can´t be much worse anyway) pictures soon enough.

It’s a blue state alright. Loaded with Liberals.

Blue Hawaiian?

Shit Hawaii is even more expensive than California!

The weather is amazing though, warm rain in the middle of winter, water warm like a nice recently drawn relaxing bath. :8:

No FT clubs though. 😆

Nope, WAY TOO hot in the summer.

This last summer it was in the 120’s… 😯

If I could find a place where it was 80F and 30% humidity 24/7/365 i’d be in hog heaven!

Yea – only in jest. Now Arizona…. 😯

Montana resembles more of a third world country than Cali… 😯 😯 😯

Uber rich owning the majority of the land contrast with those making little to no money.

There is only ONE issue with Montana.

IT GETS REALLY FUCKING COLD IN THE WINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I grew up in super cold climates, no more for me thanks.

No plans to buy a house that I could not fix up and unload for a profit here in Cali. Great place to live but wouldn’t consider it a place to retire simply because the cost of living is too high. In Montana you could start five FT clubs, problem is there wouldn’t be anyone at the matches.

It’s beautiful up there though!

Synopsis – You need to join him, get the hell out of California before it falls completely third world, and establish a new FT group in Montana. 🙂

Will those wheels roll up and provide enough clearance to un latch the QD levers on my Burris cantilever mount, that is the main thing I am looking for and had not thought of it until seeing your picture

What about putting the lever on the other side? Or is it one of those cantilever mounts? 😕

Demp, you are moving to Montana? Bummer. I just ordered a 22cal barrel for the USFT for this years FT season. Looking to win everything this year. 😉

For those asking about the wheel. I set the mark for my max shooting distance at the largest point of offset and then mark back down to my closest shooting distance where the offset is less. What this does is create ample distance between the marks at the longer shooting distances.

Pretty good possibility. Wife is negotiating now. As for me I’ll close down my business here and start back up in Montana.
We shall know soon

Nice! I just paid Eric for my 90mm SW for the Delta. Looks like a finely machined piece.

It’s more useful in the 10-25 yd range where it’s needed more. I’m going to try to shoot some today so I can mark my 25 yd line exactly then I’ll know how much for sure but just a quick and dirty measurement has the stock Hawke 4″ wheel measuring
3.5″ from 10-25 mark and the 5″ offset wheel looks like it will be right about 6.25″ from 10 to 25 mark.
I think I did pretty good competing using 4″ wheel and this should help range better in those up close shots due to more spacing(fine tune ability).
The scope is the Sidewinder Tac30 6.5-20×42 with 20Xmil set to 12X for Field Target.
It’s the scope I had on originally and just used it. If I were setting up from start for Hunter class
I would have gotten a 3-12×50.

I have no interest in 30 cal with my 25 set up at 50fpe. I am waiting and hoping Ed makes a 9mm/357 pup for us.

Those are Hawke 2″ forward mounts.

The wheel will go all the way up opposite the down pic. I just showed it down fully and at half rotation.

What scope rings are those?

Looks great but missing a 30 cal in the collection. 😉
