Q:

Oil, lube, and grease

What are good recommended materials and brands to use for lubrication and protection of various parts of the cricket assembly?

– I use Ballistol oil for inner barrel cleaning and to wipe the outer gun parts for corrosion protection.

– I use Suber Lube synth grease for the oil rings and gauge and filler assembly (I noticed Ernest use Molykote 55 so I assume that’s a better option that I will start using).

– I do not use something specific for the inner mechanical parts of the gun (trigger, loader, breech etc) at this point and rely on ballistol spreading there. I can use a good advice here.

What are others recommendations and suggestions regarding this issue and items used?

Quite a change of topic fox 🙂 but yes I eat what I hunt (with few exceptions of course).

The rabbits were inspected and cleaned on the spot. Few were thrown out for health concerns and the rest made it here:

They do require good preparation but quite tasty at the end. A sample of the final product of one rabbit is show here:

It’s spring time again here so its good time to hunt them, but from previous experience the rattlers are all over their area now. Planning to go next week with rattle snake boots this time.

.

That is what I use with the addition of pellet gun oil and Moly grease.

The only place it wouldn’t use Molykote 55 is inside of the regulator, outside it’s okay.

Thanks Greg.
So I take it you apply a light coat of this metal to metal paste on trigger and breech assembly?
