If yes, what is the best thing to use to oil your pellets?

what i do is just drop a few drops of the fp-10 in a tin then roll the pellets around ,coats them nicely.
true. but there’s some in the breech, right? I’d just not use CLP… besides- that stuff’s more expensive than it used to be, and I’d rather just use it on my powder burners.

the consensus seems to be that lubing is mainly for good care of the barrel, especially for the AirForce barrels.
The lube type might affect the barrel and action cleanliness as much as a bad choice of lube hurts anything else.
Too much or too thick and you can gunk everything. Too thin and might just be as useless as nothing.
Also in air rifles is better to stay away from lubricants that ignite easely when waporized, to avoid “dieseling” which definitely screws up accuracy and can damage several parts of the action on air valve.

If you will read my post again. I was trying to say that roll sorting is the quickest way to sort for the time spent.
Roll sorting sorts by size of the pellets. And roundness of pellet. Getting rid of defective out of round pellets etc.
Weighing is tedious and time consuming and unnessisary for pellets.
With cast bullets its useful to weigh to find voids in bullets when casting for peak accuacy .
Powderburner, I’m going to have to disagree slightly. It’s been proven that sorting does, to an extent, help with accuracy. Otherwise the benchrest shooters wouldn’t be doing it. Hell, the guys here wouldn’t be doing it. It’s just one piece of the whole consistency thing. I would definitely not say that weight doesn’t matter at all…
weight does not make a damn, size is were its at for pellets .

No one wants to take this? I love talking air gun because you never know it all, however here is my short answer. It may help and it could hurt.
I’ve lubed with 4 or 5 different things and here is what I do. For some pellets I wash and lube and dry for 12 hrs. My current lube of choice is kry tech wax. Which is used in bicycle applications for lubeing the chain(mac1). Does it give me better accuracy? Nope(or none diff. that i can tell) Does it shoot my pellets faster? Nope ( or no diff. that I can tell or measure). So why lube? I do it for cleanliness and longevity of my barrel. I don’t lube my jsb’s don’t lube my h&n’s. Right now I only lube my crosman premieres. And that’s how it goes. Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t. Ask me next month maybe it will be different.
Now if I’m going to a competition shoot, I use every advantage I can. I weigh and sort and visual inspect and do the roll test because I want to squeeze every bit of accuracy out of my gun that I can. Even if your pellets differ as little as 1% in weight it can change your speed spread as much as 8-10% that has a measurable impact. Measurable fpe differences just on something as small as a little weight.
And if someone can show me with hard measurable repeatable evidence that lubeing your pellets makes them shoot straighter and faster then I want to see it. Like I said it may help or hurt. Find out for yourself. And let me know.

This reminds me of a time…
Once I was oiling with a gun oil like outers or something I can remember the name. I know it was petroleum based. We’ll I would oil like 15 pellets and shoot them through the barrel right before cleaning it. We’ll the last time I did this I shot my 15 and pulled at least 4 patches through, it looked clean and I believed I got it all out. So I figured why not finish off by shooting g a rws cleaning pellet through it. I put 2 in and ……. It was my first time diesseling my condor at full power and it sounded like shooting a .45 right in my house. Lol
I can laugh at it now but at the time it scared me to death. Then I thought I could have just ruined the gun. But luckily It was ok. So yes now I use non petro based lube. They have their place and you can use them but always respect the fact their flammable under pressure.
