Q:

Oiler for the shaft of the ShoeBOx compressor ?

Tom and others, first let me say how cool this thing looks Tom !! , very innovative.
There is a oil-er for the steering shaft of outboard motors that you fill with lithium grease that you put on the shaft at the motor, that when the motor is turned it swipes the shaft with grease and keeps it oiled up so the shaft will not freeze up like the dammed one i have in the back yard!!$#%%*& .

But any way have you thought of having something like this on the shoebox to swipe the shaft as it runs to keep a fresh supply of oil on the shaft .??

Also where did you source the cylinder ‘s for the shoe box , could they be sized up to have better performance???

Dont know if you guys have seen the videos, but this thing is cool!!

Bump

Grease fitting sounds very interesting, pics??

I have the cylinders custom made. They have .001 clearance so unless you went to a bigger piston which would cause problems there is not much more there.

Ok , i understand , it would drive the price up allot. Have you done any thing yet on the grease swiper .

A bracket holding a piece of pvc pipe with threaded caps , with felt under the caps with just the right size hole would work to allow just a tad of lithium grease to stay on the rod. with a grease cert in the side of the pipe or just a hole to squirt the grease out of a squeeze bottle.?????????????

PB, that oiler/greaser idea is great! gonna see about that

remember the Shoebox began as a price point… then a performanc that could be achieved at that $.

so that determines the motor size and that limits the plunger size.

So if the plungers are bigger then bigger motor therefore increased cost

To upsize to say 1/2hp capability could potentially duble the price of the unit.

The Shoebox meets and exceeds the original goals as laid out by Tom 🙂

Walter….

But enhancements….. great idea.

Grease cups with a wiper would be good!
