Q:

OK–I’M OFFICIALLY "BACK" to the DARK SIDE……

Sold one of the 22xx HPA guns, robbed all the piigy banks, etc, etc, etc. HAD to have another TalonSS..Couldn’t find a used one here (.177) or on the “yellow” classified, or anywhere….said to HELL with it (that MANLY spur of the moment thing” ) kicked in so I called Pyramyd Air and ordered myself a brand new TalonSS in .177, and YES, it’s BLUE and those that don’t like can can “kiss the baby) 😆 😆 😆 At my age I figure I can get away with a lot more insane actions……sure wish my TSS would hurry up and get here ❗
I called Airguns Of Arizona…according to KIP, they have “ZERO” talons of any kind—-only have Condors!!! too bad 😥

😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 I’m STILL trying to figure out WTF was going through my head when I sold the other one…TALK ABOUT HAVING A BAD DAY !!!! I weighed gun before I put scope on ut weighs 4.95 lbs 😎 😎 So, with the scope I plan on putting on it (just a temporary one on there now) it will STILL be under SIX LBS. So I’m all happy with that..I’ve ran about 100 pellets through it this afternoon, and it’s schweeeet..just like I knew it would be..Trigger sux (compared to the S410) but I can stone it some I think and get it a little better..T/H set from factory @ 0.074″ and with PW set at 6, the 10.3 Air Arms pellets are “thwacking” pretty good..have read all the past posts about getting valve and hammer balanced, will start on that tomorrow…BTW boys, it was 72 degrees here in the “DEEP SOUTH” today and clear blue skies !!

:thumb:

Now behave yourself and dont go selling it 😀

WAHOOO! New TalonSS is every bit as good as I knew it would be…FEDEX dropped it off about dark testerday, so had to wait ’til this mrining to get started…got the GTBJ shroud on and am happy as I can be…that Blue finish looks even better in person than in the pix, very pleased with it 😀 😀
Going to run a couple hundred pellets through it, then do some chrony testing…PW was set @ ” 5″ from the factory. I’m shooting 10.3g. Air Arms pellets, and I’m gonna guess around 850-900fps now….hitting pretty hard. Will now more later man I’m like a little kid at Christmas time (but I’m almost 63 🙄 🙄 ) Oh well…….back in the saddle again !!!

Welcome back packrat,

I don’t know about about the exotic pellets mentioned above but you might try JSB Match Exacts.

They are the most consistent pellets to roll sort. When the weather breaks I’ll be getting my 12″ Condor .177 out to the range to tune up and check out a new barrel. It did real good a couple days ago at 60 yards just busting ice chunks and poking same holes in the snow.

I’ts almost as if you never left . 😀

I hear ya… the ones above are my go-to pellets for hunting, target, and busting shit up.

Thanks SSS for the pellet info…my other TSS was .22,so I’m sort of familiar with “the gun” but, since I have an HPA Crosman in .22, that shoots +34 FPE, and an Air Arms S410 in .22, thought I’d try ..177 TSS..got the blue just cause I could 😀 I’ve bough 17 new rifles since Nov. of 2010…ALL of them were black except for the S410, so I figured I’m due for a change!! I’ve had really good luck with the 10.34 Air Arms Field Heavy pellets, with a couple of mu other guns , plus I’ve got 3 -4 tins of different ones ’round here some where I need to find… H&N, and I don’t remember what else..ANyhow. it’s always good to have as much info as possible about stuff like that….Finding right pellet for a certain gun can be a real beotch sometimes!!

You just never know The “Power of the Dark Side”

Trust your feelings…

Welcome back

Pick up some Beeman Kodiak HP / H&N Hunter pellets… they are great for tree rat double lung shots with your new 177 Talon SS.

For cheaper target shooting the Beeman Kodiak MATCH / H&N Barracuda MATCH pellets are great. “Match” gives you very consistent POI.

For the most power in your gun, 21ft/lbs, pick up some Skenco Predator Big Boy Senior 15.8gn pellets.

You’ve guessed I’m a 177 owner – PM me if you have any questions.
