Old 1377

Bought this on the Yellow Classifieds. Didn’t pump, had rust all over and the grips were cracked – I knew that when I bought it.

I stripped it, cleaned everything then took wire wool to the barrel and air tube. After that I let it soak in naval jelly for 15 minutes, used wire wool some more and then used cold blue to re blue it and applied Beemans Metaphilic oil. Painted the metal pistol frame and polished the trigger.

Luckily I had spare grips that were left over from a 1377 I converted to a 2289 so I replaced those and replaced the plastic thing that goes between tube and barrel – other than that everything is original.

It now pumps and holds air, bluing job isn’t that great but it looks ok and is clean at least. Think it could do with more sanding rust removal – looks great until I take a photo in real sunlight, lol.

I thought it had a steel breech, but its plastic and its a BB gun (Smooth bore and magnet on probe) so I probably wont be keeping it.
