Old Lovett Custom
I thought some of you might like to see a pic of some of my old work. It is a pocket carry North American Arms .22 mag. with full de-horning and port work. I was allowed to make these up with permission of North American Arms back in the early 90’s. They were kind enough to allow me to fully customize the guns and maintain Full Factory Warranty.
The fellow who ran the place back then was named Sandy Chisom.
I use one to put down a BG that was intent on killing me in a Car Jacking attempt. They really caught on for a lot of leo and a few others here for quite some time as back-ups to their primary carry weapon.

I handled a little one like that at a shop last week and thought it’s a neat idea. It’s not as nice as yours of course. Dunno how much damage it can do but I guess just giving the BG is big surprise is enough to get you out of a sticky situation.
That’s a sharp looking Thunder Ranch Special. I was debating about one but bought a stainless Premiere II instead because I wanted a shinny one for a change. I found the grip much more comfortable than the Glock’s probably because I have smaller sized hands. Do you shoot with your thumb riding the safety and do you do the same (or different) when shooting one handed?
Btw, beautiful knife as well.
I still carry the little .22 behind my wallet for back up.
It’s the perfect place for a back up. Bad Guy wants your money and the first thing he demands is what is in your back pocket! 😀

And the one I caw carrying befor that. I did a lot of work on it and is being carried by a leo full time now.

What I was trying to say was, if I cannot get a tricked out Lovett, then my wife wont be carrying a non-tricked out Lovett. I think we are actually going to get her a Glock 22 , that is what I have carried everyday for the past 10 year and never a problem with it. Besides you cant go wrong with your wife blasting a “would-be” attacker with 17 rounds of .40
I think Santa is going to bring me a Glock 21 or maybe some form of a 1911

I don’t do them any more. Although I was only modifying (abet extensively) NAA guns, The Batf wanted me to get a manufacturing permit from them If I purchased more than three a month.

When I started making them (modifying), Ports were just coming on the scene. The became the rage for a while. They have since become shunned by majority of defense carriers. Mostly because of problems when fired in a close retention mode. Hot gasses, not to mention jacket material can be ejected into the shooters face. 😯

Wish I had a better pic of one of the little customs. I pulled this off a gun forum that was discussing the incident. Although I do not belong to the forum. It came up when I did a search on Google for Mike Lovett Knives. Or Lovett Knives.

I think it looks awesome. I can’t believe it was only 300, looks like it would be much more. And heck, everything you make it much more expensive. 😛

Best I remember, the Lovett Customs sold for 275.00 about 15 years ago. I have heard of them bringing some good money with the Lovett Black Knight logo on them. It was a Knight=Chess piece in black.
You can get a new North American Arms in .22 Mag. for right at 200. Just not Hot-Roded by me. 😀
Alright now this video I have got to see! How are you going to mount the camera in the wifes car? Kidding I am jealous of the videos you make.

I have small hand as well. It gives me a fit trying to ride the safty with my thumb.
The TRS is a real shooter. 😀 I would love to have one of Les Baer’s guns in stainless. It would really help out here in Texas where it is damed HOT!
