Omega Super Charger hpa compressor
Has anyone here bought one from AOA? If so how do you like it?

Don’t be fooled by them military compressor that Sheldon sells they are very good quality
If I didn’t find my compressor I would of had Jim Sheldon make me one.
I scoured craigslist for 3 or 4 months till I found mine. I bought an air max 35 basically a coltrisub
I know this is kind of an old topic, but I am stuck.
I have a F8. Too many seal rebuilds, busted burst discs, pressure shutoff valve not working, slow as the hubs of hell.
I was looking at an omega, kiddie 2.4 from Sheldon, or the alpha 275 from Joe, but I am worried I will have the same types of problems. Needing rebuilds often, slow, ect ect ect.
Where can a person find a real pump at a decent price?
Yep! A buddy and I purchased a compressor from the guy ,(almost positive) the same person that you talked to , and I learned the very same thing in a piece written by him elsewhere. Sounds like a pig in a poke to me!
Love the REAL compressor we got. But my buddy now lives too far away, and I using the Shoe-Box now. good Compressor, but S-L-O-W-!!!

I thought I should post this from a very reliable source….
Those in the high pressure compressor business had doubts about the Raptors, so we did some investigating. Some information was gathered from drawings, others (that build compressors) bought one, and did an in-depth evaluation. We separately arrived at the obvious decision that having each stage inside the other is a very poor design, and using o-rings for a system that pumps at that rate is a recipe for very short life (basically a large hand pump) and hence it would REQUIRE water cooling due to the intense heat that would build up. We both were rather fearful of the quality of a product made in mainland China (and we were right after seeing one). What the guy that builds compressors discovered proved our thoughts, and more.
1) The fact that it is all contained in one unit is quite nice.
2) It has concentric cylinders, hence the heat from the higher compression stages are sealed in by the prior stages, so it REQUIRES water just to keep it going.
3) For the unit that was purchased, the crankcase was supposed to be filled with oil and wasn’t. That was actually a good thing, as when he removed the plug which has a magnet for catching metal particles, the plug had a bunch of metal shavings that would fill a thimble. Obviously very poor quality control.
4) A person who manufactures compressors was unable to get down into the inner high-pressure stages to inspect (hence unable to re-build). If he can’t get into it, who can?
5) The unit wouldn’t start (not clear why), I will ask him as I forgot why not.
6) It doesn’t have any filter, only a condensate tube that merely lets the water that drops out of suspension puddle, so you would still need an output filter You are more than half the cost of a REAL Bauer SCUBA compressor that fills in minutes, can run one thousand hours without any repair, and has repair facilities in most cities.
7) The Raptor has already gone through at least 2-3 required revisions, hence those that purchase this unit are on the BLEEDING edge.
8) Only 1 year warranty for a Chinese product.

Yes I had 2 Sheldon compressors and just sold my 2.4 last monday. I didn’t need it anymore because I got one of the 8 new 4.2 compressors he was lucky to inquire. Brand new in the box from 1963 but was never used.
Said it should last my life time. I have had it for almost a year and it has 13 hrs on it now. Probably 3 hours of so is from filling other people’s tanks.
