One Piece Condor Valve
Hi Guys,
Could any of you produce a condor valve-like piece that would fit into a standard AF tank?
1. Solid, one piece, no valves, always open.
2. No Burst Ring.
3. Yes adjustable tophat.
4. Yes to flats or spanner hole to be able to torque the sucker down.
I have an electronically operated valve concept that I’m working on and I’m about ready to rig it to my gun. With this piece I’ll be able to hot swap any regular tank+valve and my frankenstein.
Frankenstein:
AF TANK->My Stuff which ends in standard AF tank female threading->This Piece->Condor Collar.
Am I making any sense?

Fairlyinc, good for you.
Moneyshot, not much. It will be very reasonable as I don’t have the time to do this to make side money so I’ll just get rid of them and write this off as something I cannot get to.
The 10/22s turned out wonderful. I ended buying a Kidd trigger (ouch) for mine and just reworked the factory trigger for the boy’s. Man, good glass is getting expensive. Sadly, no time to go shoot. Shooting spaces in hawaii are getting harder and harder to come by.

Yep, I realized I didn’t need an adjustable tophat, my new precious is true one piece.
wow, that got messed up somehow… 😳
the batch of one piece valves are where I left them, on the benchtop. I’m clearing an old project that another friend has been very patiently waiting for first, then will get back to those valves, time permitting.
Fairlyinc, those are some mightly fine threads there. and the grub screws will likely pinch the thin wall tubing easily. That’s fine for smaller power output guns, but most guys eventually get the urge to go shoot king kong or hogzilla. You are going to be really conspicuous when that pissed off pig looks around at whatever is pelting it with 500fps .177 pellets. You sure you want that?
walt, glad youre still with us.
that was so long ago, i figured the project abandoned for sure.
howd the youngun’s 10/22 turn out?
if you ever get to completing the insert/stem mod, im still in the market. you have any idea what kind of price tag will be on them when theyre done?

Walt didn’t disappear, he’s still made of long chain molecules that don’t dissolve in the rain nor do they permit visible spectrum light to permeate. He’s just f*ng busy these days. Crap work is driving me nuts.

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
I’m person who made the one piece stems for Pabs, however I got caught up in college work and now am at university do no personal lathe access, however im in my first semester and don’t really know what kind of access I have to the uni machines in my personal time but we have loads of manual lathes and mills and also CNC mills and lathes 🙂
I’ve only just looke back on the forum in about a year

Ok, this is what I’m talking about.
“normal” AF valve:

Springs and delrin seats, etc.
My precious:

Would anyone on here be interested in helping me out?
id put one in my room if i could just afford it, old lady would just love that , but ill be lucky to afford the bsa barrel that i got on hold by xmas… 😥
Yeah, my request was a bit murky. I’m not looking for a one-piece valve stem to drop into a working AF hammer valve.
I’m looking for a “mock valve” with zero moving parts that has the same dimensions as the AF valve and is basically just an “always open” tube coming from the tank to the gun. Something that I can screw into any AF gun’s collar that will mate with the breech.
In between this part and the tank will be my own valve, hence the need for the “always open” ( Since no hammer will be hitting anything. )
But yeah, I’ve been drooling over those mini lathes but I just don’t have any room for them!
pb, im trying to acquire a 1 piece, WIH was doin one but he seems to have disappeared. if you find anyone else doin one, toss me a pm…
cant remember the name but Pablouk is running a one piece stem that is not adjustable, the guy makes it to the specs that you want for your top hat gap.
if i could even afford the little crappy harbor freight benchtop lathe, id spend every waking moment doing some amazing things for these guns…
i ran a lathe for a few years when i was younger, and almost got fired for sneaking parts for my dads jeep…

Hey Walt,
In your experience, what kind of things should I be looking out for when “designing” a valve? Of course, power power power is what I’m after.
My “true” valve lies between the tank and the gun so I just need an AF collar and breech compatible part that I can tie into. I figured a “gutted” AF valve would do the trick but it seems like I’ve still got a few creeks to cross before I can get this thing breathing clear.
